The entire flight there was torture. I had nothing to do, and was too excited to sleep (though, I eventually did). When I got there, I called Jamie who was looking for a place to park. I got my bag and waited at the wrong door, while Jamie slipped in and was looking for me at the baggage claim. But she found me. We went and got dinner at TGI Fridays, and noticed that they had Darth Vader with a PURPLE lightsaber up on the wall. Needless to say, I won't be eating THERE again. [Wink] But then we got home, and decided to run out and see Day After Tomorrow, and despite a few flaws here and there, we liked it.

We went shopping after the movie for a lot of things that we thought would be good, but ended up not eating while I was there like pringles and salsa. We got home and decided to play a stupid joke on people. Yeah, it was lame. Oh well, we had a good laugh over it.

After getting ready for bed, we had our first kiss in Jamie's hallway, and I felt like I belonged there, with her.

I woke up a few times here and there, one of the times mumbling something to Jamie, who had just woken up. She'll have to tell you what I said, cause I don't remember things very well in that state. The plan was to both wake up and go to the doctors, who was going to pull out one of her toenails, but we both overslept a bit, so Jamie went on her on, while I woke up. By the way, Jamie has a window right next to her shower that she swears no one can look into during the day, but I didn't know that at the time, and was putting a towel up over it. I didn't trust that window, even after she told me it was ok.

But she got home, and we played some Halo, her Relief Society Pres. came over and talked to us. Really fun woman. Jamie took me to where she went to college, and I got to walk around, and saw monks and a cathedral. Cathedrals are cool. I think it was also this day I got to see Jamie in fencing class, practicing with a little boy who has 0 personality. It was funny to watch. When we got home, we watched some Xfiles and cuddled some more.

3rd day, we went to the Lake. You know, the lake from What About Bob? I'm seriously amazed at all the trees. LOTS of trees in NH. But anyway, we got going, and I got to meet her sister, and her dad for a minute or two. We also got some nummy sandwiches. The plan was to go kayaking. When we got to the guys place who had the kayaks, we found there was no paddles. [Frown] Oh well, I still get to be with Jamie at a lake, with nummy sandwiches. It was still a good time. When we got back we met up with 2 of her friends, Chris and Sarah, who are going to be getting married. They are serious cool people. We had steaks together. We also were going to see a movie afterwards, but Chris, who had to be up early for work, decided to go home, as we went to see HP3, and run around Borders before it started. Afterwards, more cuddling, and talking to people on AIM. Lovey dovey stuff. T'was great.

4th day...
We woke up, did the getting ready part, went out for lunch at a mexican place. I was tempted to tell them it was my birthday, just so they'd come out and smack us around with a newspaper, which is apparently what they do there. We also played Halo for a while. We were playing co-op, on heroic. LONG LONG level. Afterwords, we went to see The Terminal. My short opinion on the movie: I really liked it, so there. So we came home, cuddled, talked on AIM to people. And then Jamie looked like she was falling asleep. She told me that I was the first person she felt comfortable falling asleep with, there next to her. I told her she was the girl of my life. We fell asleep together, FULLY CLOTHED, ON TOP OF THE SHEETS, AND NOTHING HAPPENED past me trying to tickle her and giving her a back rub.

Day 5
We got up, grabbed some lunch, went and saw a fencing tournament thingy, took pictures, and came home. I didn't want to go home. Jamie didn't want me to leave. Needless to say, we both know about me going on my mission for 2 years. We both still want me to go. I am going to go on my mission. We cuddled a lot before my plane. I told Jamie I wanted her to wait for me, she said she would. We talked about after my mission, about where we were headed.

At the airport, we still didn't want to seperate. I had a few minutes before my plane, so we sat and looked at each other, and I thought about how beautiful and perfect she was. We kissed a bit here and there. Jamie then handed me something and said not to look at it till I was on the plane (I kept that). She said that I could either hold on to it till I was ready to use it, or if I didn't want it I could give it back. She said it was a family heirloom, her Great Grandmothers. When I got on the plane I looked at it. It was a ring.

I think I'll hold on to it for two years. Afterwords, if things work out and if I'm lucky, Jamie will hold on to it for the rest of our lives, because I wouldn't want it any other way.

Side note to Alex and Sam: Keep Quiet about this. [Big Grin]

Nathan, when I met you I could sense instantly that you are a man with a mission. But I had no idea!

Anyway, congratulations both of you. I'm glad you hit it off so well, but not surprised at all.

Be good for each other and I can't wait for the next update.

Of course, I bet you can't wait either.

Interesting story, T, but, frankly, it's not very believable. According to your post, you had fun...in New Hampshire. Literally anybody who's been there can back me up: NH is -NOT- fun. Sure, it's got trees, but its mountains suck. And its mosquitos suck ('least, compared to other mountains. Heck, even Utah has better mountains). And its winters suck. And its humidity sucks. And its sunburns suck. And its relatives-on-the-mom's-side suck.

Admit it: NH is the east-coast vacuum. Now, I understand that you wouldn't want to insult your girlfriend's place of residence, but isn't honesty just as, if not more, important than manners in a romantic relationship?

Wow! As someone soon to be married to someone I dated long-distance for two and a half years, I can tell you that it can be very exciting for all the work you have to do to keep it going.

I still remember the feeling when Eve would come slowly into view as I went up the escalator in Cincinnati airport.

You guys have a good two years ahead of you. Congratulations.

Mazel Tov to both of you! (As I just said to Jamie, I'm not Jewish, but I love that phrase [Smile] )

You're both very lucky people. However, I've known Jamie longer. So be good to her, Nate, or I might find myself answering for thrashing a missionary. (Obligatory hazing).

*high-fives all around*

Now, Goat, I'm sure he was too busy looking at Mack to notice any of that other stuff....

Congrats & good luck, Guys!

I like it how you guys are plotting out any arguments that we might have, by imagining me with welts and bruises. Naturally, thats going to happen IF there is an argument, but give me some credit here. [Wink]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

Of course for arguments, we'd don fencing gear and duel.

Or wrestle. Sans gear.

Posted by Damien (Member # 5611) on :

Wait...

wrestling or wrasslin'?

>_>

Mack,are clothes considered gear?

Nate, why shoot for only 2 years of getting it.....get engaged and get it for as long as she lets you! [Evil] [Taunt] ( that is usually until after the wedding..she is already prone to headaches, you know...) [Taunt]

Enjoy those welts and bruises! [Evil] , but don't forget, gear may be optional, but helmet should be mandatory...

Maybe you two should wait until her camera is fixed...wait, it is...carry on...
