You guys already know I'm crazed, between stress at work, flying to AZ for my friends wedding, and Kama Con.

So I'm contemplating this spreadsheet at my computer, gnawing on the end of my mechanical pencil as is my wont when I'm stressed.

And lo and behold, I hear a cracking sound.

Yes, I chipped my front tooth. I recovered the chipped peice of enamel. It isn't a large piece or highly visible, but just large enough that I can feel it and there is a sharp spot where it catches on my lip and tounge.

Dentist appointment at 6pm.

AJ

*sympathy vibes* I did that on my metal bunk bed. Don't ask.

You're lucky your dentist is open at six! Mine closes at 3 and is closed on Fridays as well as the weekend...

It was a form of venting. To complicate matters. Ciara has to go out to the handler's (a 1.5 hour drive, to board for the time we are in AZ) I was supposed to leave at 6:30pm and arrive at 8pm. Allow for a half hour there, I'd get back about 10pm.

My dentist is actually near where I work, which is 30-40 minutes away from where I live. So I have the appointment at 6pm (6:15 if the appointment before me is slow) If I get out from the dentist by 7pm I'll be happy. It will take me 30 minutes to get home since traffic should be better by that time. Now we are at 7:30. If I grap something to eat on the way, that puts me at the handlers at nine and me not home until 11pm.

Steve could drive the dog to Rockford. However, the boy managed to lose his ATM card last week. They took a collection at his office for someone whose mother died, and he has no cash or change (nor do any of his co-workers due to the collection) to pay the $1.50 in tolls between here and Rockford and back, and he can't go to the ATM and get cash because he has no ATM card. All of the loose change around the house was corralled recently and is in My car, because I'm the one who was supposed to be driving to Rockford.

And we are flying out at 11am tomorrow.

Oooh! Definitely not what you need in the middle of an already stressful time!

Good luck with the dentist visit. I hope they're able to get you in and out quickly and efficiently.

Did I mention that I'm not packed yet?

Oh yes and I was supposed to be doing an adobe pagemaker layout tonight for an advertisement for Jake (my other dog) because it is due by the 1st.

Maybe I can get Steve to do that.

awww. tooth problems give me nightmares.

I had one recently that a tooth of mine fell out, and I put it back in the hole hoping it would "grow together." I was really upset in the dream.

*hugs banna* Just think of today as an ultra-structured day =)

I did something like that last month--broke the little thing in half. Now, since the cap wasn't put on properly and they can't fully numb it, they're talking root canal.

So think: that's what could happen to you. [Big Grin]

Ouchies. You have my sympathies. A few years ago I chipped my front tooth during Flagline practice. Hit me right in the face. Two days before my brother's wedding.

Fortunately I was able to get a dentist appointment the very next day. It got capped no problem. [Evil]

My condolences! Ouch!
I hope your dentist can fix it before the wedding (and the wedding pictures), even though I'm sure you're glad it isn't very noticeable!

BTW, I can just hear my mom now "There was a reason I always told you not to chew the ends of your pencils!" [Wink]

Man, what a bunch of weenies. This is why they invented super glue.

[Wink]

Really, Kayla? I thought it was to use instead of surgical stitches.

AJ, ouch!!! Hope by now you are re-toothed and almost done with the dog-delivery. [Wink]

rivka, they have invented something for wound closure that is close to super glue, but super glue was invented accidentally in the '50s.

quote:
Super Glue was invented by accident. The researcher was trying to make optical coating materials, and would test their properties by putting them between two prisms and shining light through them. When he tried the cyano-acrylate, he couldn't get the prisms apart.
You can read about surgical super glue here.

However, in my family, if super glue or duct tape won't fix it, it ain't really broke. [Wink]

I know, Kayla. [Smile] 'Twas a bad joke. The discovery of super-glue, like those of post-its and velcro, is featured in one of my all-time favorite books. [Smile]
