You have to be invited, so someone who has an account has to get an invite to give out, and then give it to you.

I still don't get what the big deal is about gmail.
Anyone care to enlighten me as to what is so special about them?
Also you might try hanging out in chat, a few people have offered to send a gmail invites to who ever wants them.
