How can I crush on someone after seeing them just 2 times?
Ah, well...

Very very fearful of this thread.

DKW started a similar one awhile back -- about being very pleased to be single...

and shortly thereafter got engaged.

“Do you come here often?”

How you doin’?
– are those space pants?
Because your ass is out of this world.
And is it it hot in here?
or is it just you?

Hey, you dropped a penny
…and my number.
Remember my name, too;
you’ll be screaming it later.
Now, can I buy you a drink?

My friend thinks you’re hot.
So I have to ask
What’s a nice girl like you doing
in a place like this?

Do you believe in love at first sight,
or should I walk by again?
Honestly,
If I could rewrite the alphabet,
I’d put ‘u’ next to ‘me.’

Hey, baby.
Didn’t I see you in my dreams last night?
Nice shoes, wanna –

“Hi.”

Morning comes and morning goes with no regret
And evening brings the memories I can't forget
Empty rooms that echo as I climb the stairs
And empty clothes that drape and fall on empty chairs

And I wonder if you know
That I never understood
That although you said you'd go
Until you did I never thought you would.

-Don McLean, Empty Chairs

Actually, I don't feel like that song at all. But Katie's link made me laugh (mega props for despair links) which somehow triggered the fact that she's said she likes the song Vincent which naturally led to this song as it's by the same feller.

And so it goes.

Bob, I love that song. [Smile] Don McClean was the only CD I've played continuously since I started listening to music. He's just lovely.

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

I think my favourite semi-bitter love song is by the Philosopher Kings. Actually, I think my favourite album about girls is their Famous, Rich, & Beautiful. But the song I'm thinking of goes a little like this:

we don't make love in the afternoon
on the stairs, in the rest room
when you're here you're never in the mood
you don't love me like you used to do

I don't know 'cause I've been wrong before
something's gone behind the bedroom door
it's in your kiss it's in the way you move
you don't love me like you used to do

I haven't really had this exact experience, I just love the song. It grooves. [Smile]

Posted by J T Stryker (Member # 6300) on :

I missed you so much that I begged you to fly here to see me
You must have broke down because you finally said that you would
But now that you're here I just feel like I'm constantly dreaming
Cause something's gotta go wrong 'cause I'm feelin' way too damn good

It's like everytime I turn around
I fall in love and find my heart face down
And where it lands is where it should
This time it's like the two of us should've probably start to fight
Cause something's gotta go wrong 'cause I'm feelin' way too damn good
Feelin' way too damn good

-Too dam happy, by Nickel Back

Yep, it's kinda like that.
You know she's done with you, but she just hasn't thought of a way to let you know,
she wants to just tell you, but you'll never let it go.
As you can tell I'm just a wee bit bitter about the last one,
But then again, she was a bit of a bum.
I'm glad to say, she's far away,
Too bad I see her every other day.

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

It's ancient history, so I think it's a great time to stop bringing it up.

Posted by J T Stryker (Member # 6300) on :

No, this is the girl that I've been dating off and on for almost 3 years, and I swear this time, I'm really never speaking to her again, cause friends just doesn't work. And the girl from prom was a stupid mistake, I never should have ditched my date, and even if I didn't have a date, I should have known better than to have a fling with that girl. If you'd like I could rant about every mistake I've made with females in the past year, but I think Blacwolve might kill me if I did, cause she told me so, she told me so every single time.

The ever so pathetic sounding,
Stryker

Still single. Mostly I'm fine with it, but I do get a moment of panic every now and then that something will happen to my dad before I meet someone and get married. This would be especially upsetting to me, as my mom literally said "This baby's for you, Daddy" when I was born. I've always been especially close to my dad, and so he must be there to walk me down the aisle.

But yeah, I'm fine with being single. Wouldn't say no to being in a relationship, though. [Big Grin]

When someone posts a reply to a thread, the thread gets moved to the top of the list--in other words, it gets "bumped" up the page. [Smile] It can refer to any thread that's been replied to, but yes, it's more often used on older topics. Or when the whole point of replying is to move the thread up to the top of the page so as to grab someone's attention.

It's Valentine's Day. The hormones and instincts have to go somewhere.

This year at least the anointed V-Day movie (Hitch) stars someone I oddly love. I enjoy actor-watching but usually don't care what happens to them, but based on OSC's comments and interviews from I, Robot, I actively want nothing but good things to happen for Will Smith.

If you ever saw Jersey Girl, Will Smith plays himself in it. Assuming that personality is anything like his real personality, he's a good guy.

And based on the few interviews and such I've seen, that seems likely.

I think it has more to do with not feeling so alone in our singleness. I am not exactly happy about being single, but I do not expect it to change in the next 18 days. It is just nice to know that there are others who will not spend the day smooching with a SO.

Yeah, I'll bet Coccinelle and I see it together. Which is always fun, but, hmmm...

I have had dates in the past while, but I haven't been kissed in so long I think I forgot how it goes.

There is an email exchange thread *hint hint*

(I would have done a candy exchange but I thought of it too late.)

Update: Nick is no longer single, and saving for an engagement ring for the most amazing woman.

Just thought I would let you all know. I guess if you get too comfortable being single, you find somebody. Wierd.

Wow, this is my first post in a while. I miss you guys, but I'm too busy with work and my social life to ever check the rack anymore. [Frown]

For example, last night I had a great time watching my assistant managers get drunk while bowling. [Big Grin]

One of them was all up on me the whole night though... [Dont Know]

Oh well. Anyway, I'm rambling. I miss Hatrack, I just... don't have time anymore I guess, I get tired of computers really quickly now. But hey this thread is about singles, single people, there is somebody for everybody. [Smile]

Katie, at least there's no chance you'll get drunk and kiss a guy you don't even find attractive!

[Embarrassed]
