What’s your wish list of stuff to do in your life?

Farmgirl mentioned having one in the balloon thread, so thought I’d post mine… anyone else into posting theirs??

Wish List

The general ones are love, develop faith, have a long and healthy life, and help create world peace…

More specifically now, in no particular order:

… I’ve been adding to this list for a few years now; there’s some stuff I’ve already gotten done that’s not on the list. And I was thinking about the list today, and said, hey, the henna rinse, I should do that, so I got together with a friend and right now I’m sitting here typing this with a bag on my head while I wait for the stuff to set… and I’m going to Burning Man this year, so I’m doing that at last…
A lot of this stuff has to wait on me being in better health to do it. And a lot of it costs $ that I shouldn’t spend right now… but there’s still stuff I could be doing, I should work at this list more [Smile]

Find and marry a girl who likes all the same drugs I do.
Become a published author.
Become proficient in a martial art that is actually useful.

Learn to play the keyboard/piano.
Visit India, Europe, etc.
Cross off the remaining items on my little list.

I keep thinking up wishes that can't come true, like being able to fly, or to stop time, or heal diseases. Or to own a live version of that Undo command that is on my computer.

Then I start remembering all the wishes I used to have, those ones that can't ever come true now because it's too late, I've either waited too long or gone too far or gotten too old.

The only thing on my active wish list that I can think of right now I can't even say out loud. I really can't think of any others.

I'm thinking Danzig's dream girl will be perfect. A perfect undercover cop, maybe. Be careful what you wish for, Danzig [Smile]

Hmm...I'll be etiting this post a lot, as I add stuff here:

This very moment I want:

- Broadband Connection (Damn Third-World(C) phone lines!)
- Harder Skin (to absorb punches aimed at me)
- Big sunglasses (to cover injured eye)
- Playstation II
- More respect to teachers in my country (and everywhere else)
- My Myiasaki Ultimate Anime Collection to arrive from Japan.
- I wish my marriage day come soon!

Ah, come on Theca! I'm a firm believer in NEVER being too old!

I'll have to pull out my list at home and post it tomorrow - but it isn't nearly as extensive as plaid's!! Wow! what a list you have!

Farmgirl

edit: although the list I originally talked about in the balloon thread was not a list of THINGS (possessions) -- it was a list of things I want to accomplish before I die. Events. Like going ballooning....

Eduardo -- I keep hearing the song "Eduardo e Monica" whenever you post.

So keep posting -- I like that song. [Smile]

I was a kid when that particular song ("Eduardo e Monica") was a big success. I was wat...12, 13 years old, I guess... I was teased a lot in school because of that song. And there was a girl called "Monica" in my class, so yeah...we were teased a lot because of that song.

Childhood...always fun remembering [Wink]

I want a girlfriend before I turn 26 on the 26th of August
I want to become a writer
Somehow, I need to get millions of dollars so I can give one million to my friend so she doesn't have to work this crummy job
I'd like to play back all the money I owe people and never have to ask for money from people again.
And I want to stop working at the Stupormarket.

I give up on the whole cleaning thing. I hate cleaning... Perhaps if someone was nagging me about it I'd do it, but since it's just me, Why should I care?

Hey, AJ [Wave]

That's so funny b/c I thought of you when I saw a Cardigan Welsh Corgi in a dog show on television!

Them saying no is the worse thing... It would hurt a LOT...
But, it's worth a try...
I just wish I could buy this person a computer or something.

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

I would say life hurts and you grow from it, but I'm still trying to work out the growing part.

And if they say no - well, I'm sorry. But there are other people out there and maybe, just maybe one of them might be a better fit for you.

Which is amazingly cold comfort I realize as I've been there several times myself.

It does not help that I am painfully, painfully shy..
And also uncute.

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

Cute is in the eye of the beholder.

Painfully shy - been there, done that.

And I'm not trying to make light of your dilemma, I promise. But until you mentally push yourself over that hill, you'll never know.

And a good relationship is worth all (at least most) of the bad ones.

I want to...

1. ...develop a metal voice that dudes will want to listen to, without smoking to do it.
2. ...get a dog. I've been wanting one my whole life.
3. ...go on tour.
4. ...learn all the major languages.
5. ...become the mom that I envision whenever I imagine the mom my kids REALLY deserve.

Number six would have been "...have someone say, 'You're just like Grandma'" but that happened to me recently. [Big Grin]

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

METAL VOICE? Do you play HEAVY METAL!?!?!
How cool!

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

I can't SING though! I STINK! Good Lord, how I stink!

<-- stinks

My choices are to scream like Tony Campos but that makes me screech so high, because I'm a girl. I can sorta croon all Tina Turner style, but that doesn't fit the genre.

*sigh*

can't sing as in singing totally off key or can't maintain a nice tone or something?
I wish they had more metal bands with soprano singers as that is just *Drool*

Who is Tony Campos?

[ July 28, 2004, 09:28 PM: Message edited by: Synesthesia ]

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

Tony Campos plays bass and does backup vocals for Static-X.

Actually, I have no problem maintaining an interesting mezzo soprano metal voice, but I don't like them as much. I like the deeper growling so I have been trying to go lower. I can sorta do it and stay on key, but it's not metal anymore, it's sing-songy and I don't like that as much.

I'll probably be forever singing backup, with an interesting solo now and then.

OoOoo. I bet you'd totally like Dir en grey. Kyo can growl like a haunted house.

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

Ooh, never heard of them. I'm interested. [Big Grin]

.

Wah! They have no way to listen to the music!

They sometimes have disturbing lyrics, but they are in Japanese for the most part anyway.
There's-
Filth
Obscure
Kasumi
Zan
Pink Killer
Bottom of the Death Valley

and pretty much all of Vulgar if you like the more aggressive stuff.
They have some great none aggressive stuff too.
*loves them*

If you have AIM I could send you a few songs...

I'm with you on the Northern Lights, plaid.

So:

-See Northern Lights and visit the arctic circle.
-Visit/live in (for a couple of months or a year) New Zealand or Australia (somewhere in the southern hemisphere)
-University year overseas.
-Visit Scotland, Wales.
-Visit France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Russia... (you get the idea)
-Spend longer than two days in London, England! I hate whirlwind trips!
-Go camping and hiking. Really camping, though, as in not in a campsite, is in my tent is blowing away and all I have left to eat is canned beef. This may be coupled with the New Zealand visit, but my camping experience is somewhat limited, so I need to find someone with the knowhow.
-Learn to recognise constellations, stars, planets, etc, so I can say "Jupiter's bright tonight" [Big Grin]
-Go to a convention. There's a Harry Potter convention in town, but I'm not allowed to go [Frown] . I am resolved to go someday and be geeky.
-Go up in a balloon.
-Publish something.
-Learn to canoe properly; paddling on one side of the the canoe.
-Archery and/or fencing.
-Learn to play tennis well.
-Learn to ride.
-Have my piano teacher satisfied with my progress/practice so she doesn't refuse to teach me up to my exam [Angst] . That is the wish I wish would come true in the near future, because if not, I'm doomed.

I've seen northern lights in Canton NY. That was a shock! Saw them on several occasions. I thought I'd have to go all the way to Canada or something
I'd also like to See Dir en grey
Have a love affair
And change the world before the world ends....

Thats odd synth. I want to end the world. Maybe we can work that out somehow.

Change the world before it ends, Syn? Yikes, that is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. [Big Grin]

I love that expression.

As for travel the world - where would you want to go?

I forgot also getting in great shape. I'm actually doing something toward that this year, though, so it's not so much a wish.

Another biggie I can't believe I forgot is for me and the Man to have the longest marriage on record. The current record is 83 years, I think. We would both have to live to 104. And still be married to each other [Wink]

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

England, Japan, Germany, Swisserland, Denmark, Finland, Iceland.
I need to TRAVEL! If I kick it before having a romantic relationship and traveling or if the world ends before then I will be unhappy. [Frown]

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

I'm a step ahead of you, Pooka. We only have to live until I'm 102 and he's 101. [Big Grin]

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

I hit the UK and part of continental Europe - France and Italy.

It was a blast - I just wish I could have traveled for more than just a month.

As for the romantic relationship - I wish you the best of luck. There are days when I wish I never had and there are days when I wouldn't give it up for the world.

The ultimate, Syn, would be for you to have a romantic relationship/love affair WHILE traveling around the world! Wouldn't that be cool? Take off and visit Europe and see what dashing stranger you might meet!

Or would that be bad?

I got to see Europe with a sweetie. It was great [Smile]

If you want to get around Europe cheap, try WWOOFing -- Willing Workers on Organic Farms -- www.wwoof.org -- you can work on farms for ~40 hours a week in exchange for room and board. Great way to meet people, be out in the country, and save money. You can do what we did and alternate a day or two of tourist stuff in the cities with farm work for a week or two at a time... muchly recommended!!
