I'm trying to remember the username of a guy who used to post here, but hasn't in some time. He was Mormon, and had probably led a fairly sheltered life, it seemed. He reported that he'd taught himself to be heterosexual. Does that ring any bells with anybody?

His name started with with a p...

I can't remember. [Frown]

Yeah, it did. Seeing Pepek's thread is what made me think of him--for a second I thought that's who it was. Pepek is obviously much more comfortable around women, though, so it clearly isn't the same guy.

I think Tom wrote some e-mails to him. Maybe he remembers?

I know I'm going to smack my forehead as soon as I see it. I think the name "peterh" took the place in my brain where "p-----" used to be.

Well, that would be a hard one to figure out by any kind of search -- because "Mormon" and "Heterosexual" would bring up thousands of posts on this site..

*cough* The idea was that you said you were drawing a blank... That's it, I'm going back to my funny quest.

Actually...

That's pretty funny Hobbes--I just didn't quite get it.

It was popatr. I haven't seen him around in quite a while, though. I wonder what happened to him.

And I don't think it was so much that he taught himself to be heterosexual. I think it was more like he realized he could go either way, and so he decided to attracted to women instead of men. Or something along those lines.

Well, I know Luke L. Miller tried for years, (though he was not Mormon) and prayed and for a while he thought he had succeeded. Later on he came to realize he was who he was and accept it, and his spirit seemed to shine when he told us about that change. The last he told us, he was celibate and intended to remain so into the future for as far ahead as he could see, but he was a gay man and unashamed. I wish him well. I miss him. He is an amazing person.

Yeah, I always liked him. He seemed like a very benevolent person.
