Does anyone know anything about them? My brother's is acting up and he wondered if I knew anyone who knew anything about them. Apparently, it's a pioneer prs x320 amp and a sub woofer. It would seem that the sub woofer doesn't work, though occasionally, on warm days, if it's sitting in the sun, it will work for about 30 seconds before it clicks off, which he doesn't think would work at all if the amp were broken. I don't even know what that means, but there it is.
Anyone with information would be greatly appreciated. Though, come to think of it, those without the needed info are appreciated also.

Has he tried plugging it into a different amp? It could be that the connection to the amp is bad or loose, so that it only works once in a while. (Could also be a wire problem.)
How old is the sub?

I have no idea. He bought the Lexus on e-bay. The car is great, but the amp just started going out.
How would one go about plugging the subwoofer into a different amp?

Sounds like a thermal issue. There may be some internal connection that is intermittent, and only gets connected above a certain temperature (due to thermal growth). Once he starts driving the car, that same connection may get jiggled loose.
But I cannot make sense of an intermittent that only works within a narrow temperature range (somewhere between "sitting in the sun" and "on for 30 seconds")
In other words: OPEN UP THE BOX AND LOOK AROUND!

Okay, here's what he said.

Also, I was able to unplug the power supply for the amp and the radio got softer. When I plugged it back in, it got louder. I'm guessing that means that part of the amp is working. Maybe there is a short in the sub woofer part of the amp (the part the supplies the power to the sub).
