I doubt you hate them as much as my friend Ingrid. For her first-year biology lab, she was required to breed them in a jar, and keep track of how many there were. An interesting experiment, in a way, but possibly better suited to a psychology lab.

My mom was up this weekend and remembered us going to an orchard to get pears last year, but I didn't remember when. Are pears in season? We're probably a couple of weeks behind you guys, though.
I also hate fruit flies. *grin* They always come in droves whenever I let my bananas ripen too much. They're a sign that I really need to make banana bread, though, which I guess is a good thing.
