I was reading a fairly normal, unremarkable article in the BBC News about Bangkok's recent mayoral election, and came across this at the tail end of the article:

Candidate number six was disqualified after it was deemed that her campaign rallies, complete with green-wigged transvestite chorus girls, were more entertainment than politics.
Reminds me of the relatively recent California gubernatorial race, really.

Anyway, anybody else able to come up with weird lines from otherwise mundane news stories? Probably a little too specific of a topic for this thread to actually survive more than a few minutes on the front page, so feel free to derail this, even from the first post.

Yeah, except the transvestite got disqualified there.

I read a funny story this morning. It began:

"Porn actor Thomas 'Rocco' Hansen was in the middle of recording of a porn movie when he witnessed a robbery in Oslo, Sunday night. Watch video here."

Which video? [Eek!]
