I like Morrissey. I have been listening to him all day.
He has a nice smooth voice.

I have a question, what exactly is a "smooth" voice? I've heard this phrase used a lot and never really understood it. [Confused]

Smooth in my addled mind is either-
A voice like silk, usually female.
Or, a crooner. Think Nat King Cole singing The Christmas song on a winter night. A lovely sort of voice you'd want to curl up with on a cold night.
That's smooth to me... His voice is great. Usually a lot of rock stars have terrible scratchy screechy kind of voices that drive me up a tree.
Best Male voices off the top of my head-
Morrissey
Depech Mode
Ville Valo from the band HIM

ect.

But, the voice that is not so smooth but has a ton of feeling-Kyo of Dir en grey. Emotionally he can wipe the floor with those guys and his voice has gotten stronger, deeper and more beautiful while still remaining unique.

Morrissey: terrible voice, can't sing, couldn't sing when he was with The Smiths, songs have no melodies, hopeless. Sorry

Good guitar though.
