I can't find the thread where this was discussed, but if anyone has suggestions. The young person's special interest is in musical theater, by the way, if that makes a difference.
Thanks!

I believe NYU has an excellent performing arts program (have a friend who's an excellent actor going there for theater)
Also, doesn't chicago have a quality performing arts college?

And University of Michigan is awesome as well. Who is this that's interested in musical theatre?

Webster University in St. Louis has a well regarded theater program and history.

Virginia Commonwealth University.
Excellent program all around, although I'm not sure it's position in musical theater ranks.
It's also one of the very top in theater education, with a program that certifies for teaching drama, speech, and English.

My boss' son is heavy into the performing arts (musical), and he attends NYU. I know he compared several, and got down to a choice between NYU and DePaul
