Happy Birthday Bok! How old are you?
Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :
I think Kama just cussed me out in her unique Eastern Western Polish dialect!
(dziekuje Kama!)
Noemon: Let's just say that I'm probably the median age of a Hatrack denizen. But not as aged as that old fart TomD.

Beren, 12-year-old Jatraquitos are not "denizens", they are Hatrack's angels.
In other words, I'm obviously not

Happy Birthday, Bokonon! I know how old you are because you are the same age as my sister and my cousin. No, wait, he is one year older than you, or you are one year older than him. Hope to see you soon! Liz
Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :
So in other words, Liz hasn't a clue of your age...give or take a year.
BTW, happy un-birthday now, Bok!

OK, smarty-pants, I am going with 26.
Bok?

Sara: The jinx thing (although up here we had a variation on it) is well known to me; a very common occurrence when I was elementary school.
Elizabeth: I am 26, but I'm not solely 26; at least I haven't been for a while.
To Everyone: Thanks for the warm fuzzies! It more than makes up for my Foxwoods losses, as well as my current car troubles.

80 dollar lesson in real live poker. Had fun in the 2+ hours I played. Learned that I need to start reading people better Got beaten a couple of times when I had the better hole cards.
Biggest lesson: most 2-4 players don't like to reraise, even when they are pretty sure they have you. They'll call you all the way to the river.

Well, there had to be a section, about 30+ minutes, where I got nothing but 3-7, offsuit, type cards. Very frustrating. When I was big blind, I checked to see the flop (naturally), and didn't once get something to work with.
I probably played a dozen hands, and I beat a friend once, and then had this old man fold to me on the river. He did it a bunch of times to other players. He was a big time fisherman, but got up before I had a chance to go up against him. He was my only easy read

Additions:
There was a run in the middle where there was always a flush draw on the board. That had people talking. Also, I got beat once when I had pocket rockets; the guy called, picked up his 2 pair on the flop (K-Q), and called me to the river. That's when I knew I needed to start paying attention to the players He thought I had a flush, but was going to pay to see it... Got beat by an A-Q over my A-J... Had an A-K beaten at one point too.
