I have an audtion for music school in less then 2 weeks! I feel so unprepared and nervous. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop the constant twitching, that I am sure will only get worse?

Just know your stuff so well that you do it by reflex. I don't think there's any way to actually get rid of the jitters. Good luck.

Take up skydiving. Then music school auditions will be a piece of cake.

If the skydiving doesn't kill me, or scar me for life, then yes the audition will be easy.

Just remember: If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is NOT for you.

I'm writing too many books at once... Sort of. This one is about an autistic girl at a music school that falls for another... student. The problem is that I know NOTHING about music schools at all!

Allegra, I'm not going to tell you that it's not going to be a nerve-wracking experience. However, you live through it (either way), and sometimes you can even learn things from the auditions! The best way to be nervous, I think, is to control it just enough so that you can use the nerves in your playing. The pieces I chose to play were always a) very fast and involving LOTS of energy (which I got from the nerves) or b) soupy Romantic pieces in which my hand shaking turned into a really extreme vibrato. I never auditioned well Bach, for example...but give me something fast and flashy, and I did ok!
The last time I did anything like an audition, it was grad school interviews. I had to play piano, and I am a TERRIBLE pianist. At the Eastman interview, they kept all the people interviewing together and took us around the school in one big herd. And there were 8 interviews! It was insane. Lucky for you, you'll only have to play once.
