Some folks (including Da_Goat and ludosti and slacker, to name those I can think of at this early stage of the morning) talked about a Thanksgiving-time (U.S.) gathering (bunching?) in Arizona. Prescott was suggested, as Da_Goat and the Moose clan will be there, and we've gotten permission from my mother-in-law to have (a reasonable number of) people over to her house the day after Thanksgiving. Were folks still interested in this?

I can't believe no one has responded to you yet, Papa! I figured everyone would be jumping at the chance to get together...

...but the forum has been very slow lately.

I'm still interested in coming up on that Friday to MooseCon! I don't know that slacker will be able to come with me (since he works nights and needs to sleep during the day), but I have no idea what his work schedule will be like that day.

I think it should be renamed MooseCall.

I'm going home for Thanksgiving, so I can't make it. I'm sad about that, but looking forward to seeing my family!

I will be in LA for a few hours the day before thanksgiving, alas, it's not Prescott.

::jealous::

I can't go... In fact, I'm going the opposite way for Thanksgiving!

Distance: 440.9 miles Approximate Travel Time: 6 hours 46 mins

hmmm...I would have to see if it is possible to even get the days off for a drive like that.

Any other takers? We will need to know how many are coming.

What time are you planning it for?

Posted by Mama Squirrel (Member # 4155) on :

We haven't set a time, but it would probably be early afternoon. We can wait and see who can come and when.

I know PSI Teleport wanted to come, but I think she's away from Hatrack for a spell. We should probably drop her a note and see if she is still interested in coming.

(I would have been jealous of those attending, were it not for my resolve to fly out and visit this wonderful family after the holidays. Pending invitation, of course. [Smile] But I'm setting aside travel funds on the off chance that I'll get lucky. *rubs hands together )

There is absolutely an open invitation for you, Sara. Any time, we'd love to have you visit.

Of course, there's kind of an open invitation for just about any Hatracker(s) who would like to spend some time with us. But if you need to stay you'll probably be relegated to the sofa bed in the living room (or the top bunk over Mooselet, depending). For you, Sara (and perhaps some others, depending on the size of the bribe), we'll rearrange what we need to so that you get the king-size bed if you want it.

I was in Prescott for Thanksgiving 2 years ago. Why did my brother have to stop going to school there? [Grumble]

Papa, I might take you up on that this winter. My parents just got a condo in Casa Grande, near Phoenix, and JenniK and I are going to visit after Christmas, maybe.

I'm checking the Ship's schedule as we putz along. I'm pretty sure I can get some time off. Thing is I hope the person that I picked to fill in for me in my absence isn't gone at the same time.

If I were to stay with you, I would insist on the comfy couch. I adore couches.

... with Loonette and Molly, a clown and her dolly, on the Big Comfy Couch...

sorry, I just had to... I'm home with a sick 7 year old and that's on the TV.

Heh, I've been invited to at least tag along with a buddy of mine. He's gonna see his wife for Thanksgiving. So I'll definately be in the area around that time. Besides, I didn't see much of Phoenix the last time I was there.

You know, I hate to bring this up now, but I just realized how impossible it's going to be to come for any length of time... Three people scheduled the day off of work before I even had the chance to, my brother and sister have the day off of school so I'll have to be watching them, nd the Circuit Overseer is visiting (fairly important thing in the JW world) my congregation that week.

I may be able to squeeze in a quick "hello, nice to meet you", but the likelihood of actually having time to visit is getting increasingly slimmer. [Frown]
