I have now officially joined the ranks of amateur authors who write mediocre stuff and are proud of it. NaNoWriMo made me do it, and in spite of having to write over 17,000 words in the last two days of the month, I made it.

A lot of you have been cheering me on as I posted chapter-by-chapter updates in my LiveJournal, and I thank you all most profusely.

I also must thank Hobbes for allowing me to ignore him completely for the last few days. [Smile]

If anyone is interested enough and wants a copy (I'm personally most proud of the cover; the content may not be stellar but boy does it have a great cover), they are for sale at my CafePress store.

Yay for me! Now to celebrate, I shall go eat the cake I made just to decorate the cover. [Smile]

I did not reach 50,000, but i achieved my goal
Soon I will refine this thing and try to publish it, but no one will want to read it.

I have a question for you. OH, btw, good read. I liked your blog and will look into it further. I believe everyone has a life worth telling. It is always interesting when someone lets others into there lives in an exhibitionistic manner without pandering to sensationalism. Raw social insight is fascinating.

I have a relative who just wrote a book. I have put it into PDF format. It has pics. She wants to get it published. We put it into PDF format because that is the only format editors want stuff in these days--it seems.

How did you go about getting your book published? What is that cafe you are selling your book at? Are you making money from it? Are you investing your own money to get it published and will therefore loose money?

I am helping her get this launched and I have not considered the electronic medium. I have a deep respect for anyone who completes a book project.

Cafepress does a publish on demand service. You don't have to put any money up front and you set the price over their minimum and you get the profits. I don't have much experience with them but that is the short version of how it works.

Here's another question for those of you that know. If you publish your book on live journal or cafe press, do real publishers have issues with taking it on? Is it more difficult to sell it after you've published it online/cafe press? I'm just curious.

Btw, this book of Annie's is really cute and full of really hilarious metaphors. The characters are really fun too. go read it!

Congratulations, Annie!!!! Unfortunately, I have not been reading your livejournal daily, but I think I went there early on in November, and I enjoyed what I read.

I so know how you feel about finishing Nano. The last two days, I was at the computer just pounding away at the keyboard. My shoulders got so tense from being in a sitting position for so long and my fingers ached, but it was my own fault for not writing on a few key days. The last day I started out at 38,000 words and ended up with 50,051. (I was going cross-eyed.)

My story is far from finished, and I think I am going to have to scrap that last thousand or so because I was just writing to fill up space by then. (I was not about to fail being so close to the end.)

I am definitely going to finish this piece up. You, and others on this forum have inspired me to continue.

{{{{Annie}}}} to you for finishing. Can't wait for next year, eh. [Eek!]

Gonna check out your Cafepress site now. Cool title for the book by the way.

Oh... I think publishing on your blog or site is considered by many publishers as being published, but since Annie is self-publishing, that's no problem for her.

I'm astonished, actually. You must be very talented to be able to write 50,000 words and then have it be publish-worthy without any editing.
