Eric Idle just wrote me today with some very cool news: "I am releasing an Official Bootleg of the music John Du Prez and I recorded over the past three years for Spamalot, including seven tracks that aren't in the show."
The album is called: Eric Idle sings Spamalot, The Pre-Cast Album Official Bootleg
It will most likely be sold in the Foyer in Chicago and also on line at MontyPythonsSpamalot.com, the official website for the SPAMALOT show.

I don't know but I need to find out, because I really really really want to go. Unfortunately, tickets for anywhere that you can actually SEE anything start at $50 each, and I just don't have it right now. I was hoping we'd get our year-end bonuses yesterday but that didn't happen, so all of my Christmas shopping is on hold. I can SOOOOOOOOOO see myself fighting my way through the stores on the 24th trying to scrape something together for each person on my list.

I won't be seeing it, one cause i'm broke, and tryign to save up to go to ireland, and two because the fun thing about MP is the actors. The Knights of Ni! wouldn't be the same if it wasn't Micheal Palin sitting on John Cleese's shoulders.

Yay me!!! My parents are giving me (Chicago) Broadway season tickets for Christmas including Spamalot and Jesus Christ Superstar as extras!!
So I get to see Spamalot, JCS, Sweet Charity, Little Shop of Horrors, Wicked, Peter Pan (with Cathy Rigby!), and Les Mis!!! Plus Lion King and The Producers are coming, and we may also be going to see those as well. Being season ticket holders, we get "pre-sale" specials as the shows get closer.
This is turning out to be the best Christmas ever!

*jealousbeyondbelief* . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Although... they just translated "Chicago" here, and it's being performed by some big named actors, and I saw it once, and in two weeks I'm gonna see it again! And my aunt works as a backstage dresser person, so she took my sister and I backstage, and we met all the actors, and chatted with them, and they signed our programs, and the show was fantastic, and... I can't wait to see it again!!! I cried during three numbers, I was so happy to be there. And Gili (the friend I'm going with in two weeks) is going to think I'm really weird when I do it again next time! I can't think of anything I'd rather go see than a Broadway show. Whether or not it's actually on Broadway. Broadway shows are my LIFE. Ask anyone who knows me!
But I STILL really want to see Spamalot, and all the rest of the shows that you're going to!

I also hate Goody. Christy and I were considering doing season tickets for the Chicago series this year, but the prices are just obscene this time around -- as in, actually pulling their knickers down to their ankles and waggling their naughty bits in your face. It's almost as if they're daring you to sell your firstborn into slavery to afford tickets.

Tom, it depends on what night and what section you pick. Front balcony on a weeknight is only $150 for five shows. When you consider that it's at least $50 per if you buy them individually, plus parking (which is complimentary or seriously reduced with a season pass), AND add in the shows included this year, it's definitely worth it! The only one I'm not totally drooling over is Sweet Charity, and only because I don't know the story at all. I'll have to do some websearching later.
