So, this is the longest we've been apart since the wedding. This is sorta interesting. I have plenty to do--I'm at the main campus of school. I had class this morning at 10:40 and I have class again at 3:40 (I WAS going to be 6:10, but I got into the earlier section!), so I won't be home till 6:45 at the earliest. Nathan's had all DAY to himself.

I wonder what the apartment will look like when I get home. [Eek!]

I'm in the grad student lounge. Lounge doesn't have a couch to lounge in so I can take a nap. [Frown]

you should be worried. You'll be out of corn puffs. [Frown]

It's like leaving a naughty puppy alone.

You mean he's going to have eaten all of the used kleenex and Q-Tips out of the bathroom trash, torn the stuffing out of a couple of pillows, and peed all over the living room rug?

If Nathan knows what he's doing, the house will be cleaned and redecorated -- with a fresh coat of paint -- by the time you get back. Now's the time for him to start earning bonus points.

Nobody... nobody would be that cruel.

I can see Nate doing all that, Noemon.

I took out the trash, and did the dishes. Vacuuming of the kitchen and living room coming up next. I've actually been catching up on the X-Files.

WHAT?! SHe has all 9 seasons, I have the day to myself, and I'm not supposed to watch as many as I can, while I intermittantly clean?

The hard part was finding lunch and planning dinner. It's like... I know I just went grocery shopping, but what the heck is there? I know theres dominoes, but all I have is an out of state check, and a debit card- I'm not sure Dominoes accepts either. I could make Mac N' Cheese.... I had a sandwich for lunch. There is a pizza place down the street but it's friggin freezin'.

Yeah, probably Mac N' Cheese. I'll call Dominoes first, though.

Posted by Da_Goat (Member # 5529) on :

If your Domino's is corporately owned and is anything like ours, they won't accept checks but they will accept debit cards.

YAY! Pizza on its way!

13 bucks for a large, though. Hmmph. SHould have done 3 mediums for 15. ::shrug::

But yay! Food! No cooking! No extra dishes!

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

I'm home. I got the earlier class, which he CLEARLY didn't read on the first post. [Frown]

No pizza for ME!

Posted by Da_Goat (Member # 5529) on :

So...he ate the whole large pizza in a matter of fifteen minutes, including delivery time?

It isn't even here yet.

But he ordered a pepperoni, knowing that I don't like pepperoni pizza.

<Relieved this isn't... at least I don't think it is.>

[Edit -- of course, now with the whole pizza thing....]

Tom, you can't do too much in this situation. The marginal gain in bonus points diminishes with extra work in a single outing, so it's better to do a few things each time.

Yeah. Pepperoni is WAY overrated.

Green peppers, mushrooms, and sausage is where it's at. Or ham if you can only afford a single topping.

Posted by mothertree (Member # 4999) on :

Mail me your pepperoni and I'll mail you a Charleston Chew. Man, I should have gotten you a box of those for your wedding. We could have thrown them at you as you left.

So...

What have we learned today?

[Wink]

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Order pizza an hour earlier, and dont announce your plans.

Posted by Bokonon (Member # 480) on :

So Nathan, how are you acclimating to New England cost of living differences (prices for various things)?

"Order pizza an hour earlier, and dont announce your plans."
This has me crying with laughter. Mostly because I can see the wide eyed stare of guilt when confronted with Mac coming home early, with pizza she cant eat on its way. This is so something my boyfriend would think. Sneaky little bastards.

It's also my experience that men will listen to part of what you are saying, decide for themselves what they think the rest of what you are going to say it, and ignore what you actually say. And here's living proof. Obviously, Nathan read part of the post and blew off the rest of it. At least mack has proof he didn't listen to her. I usually get, "You never said that!" Or, "I didn't hear you say that." Or, "oh, I thought you were talking about (fill in the blank.)" Or the classic (at least in my family, and it would go on their tombstones if we believed in such things) the "I didn't mean to" defense.

[Roll Eyes]

Men.

In this case it wasn't a communication TO Nathan that didn't get read.

Kayla smel gud.

I am now eating my own cheese pizza.

Which I am not sharing.

We got the same delivery guy. [Big Grin] Nathan had to explain why he had to get another pizza. [Big Grin]

foundling: Nathan had EXACTLY THAT LOOK on his face when I walked in the door. [ROFL]

This should be the real take home lesson. If you had ordered the three mediums, you could have got one with pepperoni, one with cheese, and one with something you both like.

each other?

Which means one pep, and 2 cheese.

Wow, and I thought this was just my husband.

Yeah.

He INSISTED that I wasn't going to be home until ten. "Nathan, it's in the thread I posted. In the first post."

"Oh. I guess I didn't see it."

>_<

Dessert is cadbury dairy milk chocolate bar. mmmm.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Which I went to get you. In the cold. Because I love you.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

You got that the other night, when you were getting other stuff...for yourself, mind you. I recall a pasta bowl.

Posted by TomDavidson (Member # 124) on :

Don't worry, Nathan. It gets better once you learn to ignore them.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Jamie was the one who told me to get something for myself.

Posted by The Rabbit (Member # 671) on :

On another note, I certainly hope that when mac left this morning there was all kinds of kissing and protestations over how much you would miss each other. When mac returned, I sure hope there was all kinds of passionate kissing and protestation over how much you missed each other.

If there weren't, your marriage is headed for the rocks.

Posted by The Rabbit (Member # 671) on :

Don't worry Jamie, it gets better once you accept the fact that the reason men have so much trouble understanding women is because they ignore everything we say.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Actually, I kept telling jamie to leave and get out the door, or she'd be late. And when she got back, I told her how much I missed her, so she went and took a nap while I watched TV. [Wink]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

I was late.

It's also better to not speak to me in the mornings. Nathan can attest to this. It isn't worth the emotional damage.

And I had to take a nap because he woke me up too early. [Smile]

There was kissing before I went and took a nap.

I am really glad that no part of my life has ever been played out as a series of posts on a forum like this.

Gotta hand it to you Nathan, you can take it better than I, apparently.

So, are you guys conversing on Hatrack by logging out and logging in every other minute?

That's an awful waste of server time. [Smile]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

We have different computers.

And this is nothing compared to our conversation here. [Big Grin]

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

If you are complaining that he woke you up too early he isn't doing it right.

Don't worry, he will get better with pratice... [Big Grin]

As a matter of fact, I recommend praticing as much as possible. [Evil] You never know when it will come in handy!
