[Edit: more photo links further down the page... ]

I had thought to wait until the professional photographs were ready - but I got impatient.

So here are some (imperfect) peeks.

Saturday itself was frantic. Tony and I were up at 7:30 and on the road by 8. We were travelling to meet the hire company who had advised us the night before they would be late, and expected to arrive at the venue at 10.30 or so.

Tony wanted to be there early just in case.

The hire company rang as we walked out the door to ask why we weren't at the venue yet.

By the time we did arrive (and after several conversations between me, the hire company truck driver, and Tony's parents who had the keys to the venue but has absented for breakfast reasons) the hire company truck had vanished.

My mother however had picked up the flowers (masses of gerboras in pink, orange, yellow and red) so I sought refuge in flower-arrangement central while Tony went to find the truck.

The rest of the day continued pretty much on that note - Tony and I finally got a rest (and a brief respite in each others company) at 3:30, but Tony had to be back at the venue by 4:00 to let the caterer in. Who was late.

He arrived back at our apartment sweaty and harried at 4:45, about which time I was leaving to get dressed at the venue.

A quick note - this involved myself, my mother, my brother (a 15 year old boy - that should be enough explanation), my little sister, her dress, my dress, her shoes, my shoes, my make-up, my computer (for the music), my bouqet and the bottle of bollinger all leaving the apartments we were staying at in utmost secrecy. In a mazda 121.

A crammed, but mercifully short journey later we arrived. On the way, I realised I hadn't packed the rings - so I rang Tony to remind him to bring him.

He couldn't find them. His brother couldn't find them. His father couldn't find them.

They were in my make-up bag, with me. [Embarrassed]

I preceeded to get dressed. My mother opened the champagne. About 15 of my relatives popped out of the woodwork at that point.

(I swear they can hear the pop of the cork from suburbs away).

Guests arrived outside, met by Tony - who had arrived at that point, unharried, shaved and unsweaty. Also, his pants were falling down. By a series of messages this was relayed to the dressing room, and safety pins were sent out.

Finally, 6:30 had arrived. I was dressed, made-up, styled, hair-sprayed and very excited. I walked in on my father's arm to Pachelbel's Canon. My brother and sister walked in ahead of us, holding hands and looking gorgeously handsome and unbelievably sweet.

We walked along the verandah, under the frangipani tree (lit with fairy lights) and down the path between the rose beds to where Tony and his brother and sister were waiting.

It was fairly windy - but we were so happy to see each other that a bit of hair in our faces couldn't wipe away our grins.

The ceremony was lovely - very short, very simple, very suited to us. Hopefully later I will be able to post more photos of the ceremony itself, but for now I have the after shots.

Signing the register - I am sitting. I am not *that* much shorter than Tony.

With my mother and Tony's father.

With our family - I am pulling a funny face. But my little sister (in the blue dress) is just perfect. And my brother (kneeling next to her) is pretty handsome himself.

And exchanging sweet nothings. [Smile]

**
For those who care about such things - the infamous dress was backless to my waist with a train that extended about a foot behind me. When I have a photo that properly shows it off, I will post it.

I signed in and it took me to the Yahoo main page. There are often problems viewing Yahoo photos. You may want to try sending them to Foobonic.

It works now. No need to sign in. [Smile]

I found it amusing first noting where someone was looking in the first family shot . . . and then where he had shifted his gaze in the second.

I can see them all. Except that the "with parents" link goes to the same photo as the previous link.

[Blushing]

Well, we're married now. He's allowed to.

[Edit - thanks dkw. All fixed.

Very saucy wedding dress, Imogen. I approve wholeheartedly. [Smile]

In my defense:

a) I am about 2 feet taller than Imogen. Thus from my angle, it is difficult to look elsewhere.

b) Look at that dress people. I mean, really - what do you expect?

c) By that point, we were legally married [Big Grin] so I figure I can look anywhere I want [Wink]

cheers
tony

Those "imperfect peeks" looked beautiful to me. I can't wait to see more. [Smile]

Oh, and [ROFL] .

Edit: I promise I was quoting Imogen, not describing what the groom was doing! [Razz]

imogen, that is a serious dress. I love it. You look fantastic. I can't wait to see more detailed pictures. I love the cut of Tony's suit, too. Y'all look so happy.

Windy weddings are good luck, btw.

Beautiful pictures.

And that is a great dress. You gonna find some other occasion to wear it? Have it dyed and use it as a ballgown? You look so good in it, it would be a serious shame not to wear it again.

Oh my gosh, imogen. You are so beautiful. I know it shouldn't matter, and part of why I like Hatrack is that the importance of appearance is minimized, but -- beautiful women make me tongue-tied. And yes, it is a superb dress.

How can I ever carry on a conversation with you now? I'll be forever checking my teeth and fiddling with my hair. [Wink]

What a glorious, glorious wedding. Tony and imogen, congratulations. You look so happy together. Yay!

[Smile]

Thank you, all of you.

It is so nice to share my happiness with Hatrack. Although it might sometimes be hard to explain to my non-online friends, I really do feel part of the community here. And I love it, and am grateful to all of you for being part of it and enriching my life.

<-- newly-wed bliss. But I do mean it. [Smile]

Mrs M - I am so glad I have your approval! *glows*

ElJay - I am not sure about dying the dress. It is quite bride-y (in a, to quote Tom, saucy way) so I would have to find some formal balls. But I do love it....

And CT/Sara - shucks. [Blushing]

Y'know, I felt beautiful on Saturday. The dress made me feel stunning and the occasion just made me so happy that I truly did feel beautiful. I think that is what comes through in the photos, and I am glad of it.

But rest assured that on every other occasion - I'm the one with the spinach between her teeth and the optional red wine-stained teeth/clothes/whatever. I'm a clumsy dag at heart. [Smile]

Wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing!

You look outstanding in that dress!

I'll bet some of the younger girls here are swooning over that young brother of yours! He's a cutie.

There were flowers?

[Wink]

Where are you again? I'm thinking New Zealand. Are those flowers customary there? They are very pretty.

Thank-you, everyone.

My brother is 16. Not sure if he's the hatrack type. (Besides, if he was then he would know all my secrets...)

My flowers were pretty, weren't they? Not customary in Australia - but I just wanted something really bright and vibrant.

They were yellow calla lillies, dark red roses, purple irises, deep purple lizziantha (sp?) some red lilliums and camellia greenery. I was extravagent and got them made by a florist - all the other flowers we bought wholesale.

More photos! [Smile]

Not the professional ones (we have those on paper but not electronic format). These are from my lovely friends who pooled all their photos together and burnt us a CD of them, complete with a CD sleeve made out of one of the photos. And the CD is printed with Tony and I kissing on the front.

Here we have Tony waiting for me to walk down the garden aisle. As you can see, the wedding was very much an outdoors and in the open event.
Here are my brother and sister, walking in ahead of me. They have moved interstate and I am missing them dreadfully. This photo makes me smile. [Smile]
Here I am walking in with my Dad. Also a good view of the front of my dress.
The back of my dress.
After the sunset. The venue was what is now the Children's Literature Centre, but used to be the hospital in old Fremantle prison. As you can see, it has atmosphere.

The beautiful frangipani and butterfly cake 100% handmade by family friends. I am stabbing Tony with the cake knife.

A kiss after cutting the cake. *aww*

At the end of the night - we're taking a rest with my little sister.

For the record, I think you look stunning in that dress.

Far better than Dag does, IMO. Although bun bun might disagree... [Evil]

If Dagonee wants it, I'll send it over. For photos, of course. [Smile]

And there is a back, Tom. It just starts at my waist.

It is summer after all...

[Wink]

West Aussie Summer. Better scant than dead from hypothermia, that's what I always say! Here's assuming that was sarcasm about Tony being shaved, unsweaty and unharried- How hot was it anyway?
