She's my friend and she's been lurking for a little while. I feel a warm welcome to this community might do much to bring her out of her shell!

She's a writer, a humorist, and adorable and she enjoys anime, drawing, and long walks on the beach. (sorry, boys, she's taken. [Wink] )

Give it up for pseudo-hobbit! [Party]

Welcome!

So, is a pseudo-hobbit like half a hobbit?

Would that be a quarterling

Posted by Boris (Member # 6935) on :

I think it's more like a child-elf that wears brillo bads on its feet.
Oh yeah, Wlecome (I'm misspleling things today, on purpers)

Bah. If I had a thread with *my* name on it, I would be here so fast you couldn't even say, "Woah! So fast!"

Oh, right! Welcome to hatcrack, err, hatrack, pseudo-hobbit! [Wave]

Welcome Pseudo-hobbit!

Enjoy.

Any friend of Ryuko's---has our sympathy.

PS. What is a Pseudo-Hobbit, a short person without hair on their feet? Someone who only eats 5 meals a day, skipping second breakfasts all together? Someone who almost dropped the ring in Mt. Doom, but decided half way there that, you know, Mt. Unpleasant-But-Not-Really-Too-Scary would do just as well?

[Razz] If you're all mean about it, she'll never come out and play. She should know this is here, I emailed her about it.

Welcome to Hatrack, Psuedo-Hobbit. It's fun lurking about here, but it's even more fun engaging the regulars in pointless debates about the meaning of life. Believe me. MUCH more fun. [Big Grin]

Hi, everyone! [Wave] Thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry I'm late.

To explain the name...I've been getting hobbit jokes for years now (I'm 5'0") and I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan, so a while ago I ran with it and made myself a Samwise costume. So I guess a pseudo-hobbit is a short person with hobbit clothes and a curly wig in her closet. [Razz] No, I don't have the feet.

Let's see...about me... I live in MN, same college as Ryuko. I love creative writing, art (everything from painting to webcomics to art history), movies, snow, and, of course, the all-knowing internet. [Smile] I laugh at bad jokes, I'm addicted to blogging and Ragstock, and my current obsession is small fuzzy animals.

Anything else you'd like to know about me, ask away. [Smile]

" I laugh at bad jokes"

Well, you will find no bad jokes in our pun threads. We are very sophisticated, I'm sorry.

Posted by pseudo-hobbit (Member # 7269) on :

Aw, that's too bad. *runs off to search for pun threads*

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

*pat pat*

Poor Elizabeth has this there-are-no-bad-puns delusion. But other than that, she's really great.

Tell us more about the obsession with small fuzzy animals. Unless by that you mean to tell us that you're a Furry. [Monkeys]

Nah, I'm just daydreaming about getting a pet lately. I have a little yap-dog at my mom's house, but I rarely see him. And my apartment rules allow only quiet, non-messy pets, so I'm looking into rats or mice to keep me company.

Only thing is, my roommate is against small fuzzy pets. I know he wouldn't complain too much if I actually brought some home, but every time the subject comes up he denounces all fuzzy things as stinky and gross. [Frown]

When this thread was started, I was at a pet store with a friend, looking at the itty bitty mice. So. Freaking. Cute. I either want two female mice or two male rats (to keep each other company).

And I'd better stop writing about it now otherwise the post is going to dissolve into baby-talk over cute widdle cweatuwes.

Also, puns are indeed the height of humor. Sorry, rivka. [Razz]

Ooh, Rivka, we haven't discussed Furries here in ages!

Psh, he's just doing that to anger you. [Razz] Him and his fish.

(hides from furry discussions)

Just as buns are the lowest form of wheat, so puns are the lowest form of wit.

Which doesn't mean I never pun, or that I do not appreciate some puns. I just recognize their correct place in the humor pyramid. [Big Grin]

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Poor Rivka.

Posted by pseudo-hobbit (Member # 7269) on :

Yes, and the fish never stink because their bowls are always clean. [Roll Eyes] Just like his room. I will have my fuzzy creatures, one day. And they'll be way cooler than those durn fish.

So is my humor pyramid upside down or am I?

Posted by Ryuko (Member # 5125) on :

If you are, then your feet ARE hairy.

Didn't there used to be a poster named pH?

Hi pseudo Hobbit. I'm really mothertree except on this computer.

So isn't the bun:wheat::pun:wit thing a pun of sorts? [Confused] Or am I being obtuse by pointing that out?

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Yes.

Hi, mothertree! Nice to meet you. [Smile]
