So, I was messing around with my DVD player yesterday, and in the security features, between the ratings PG-13 and R, there was a PG-R. Does anybody know what that's all about? I've never heard of such a rating before.

It would seem to mean parental guidance recommended for children between 13 and 17/ not recommended for children under 13. But I've never heard of it.

I would bet it means PG through R would be selected on this option.
Dang, where’d we put that users manual that we never looked at again?

I realy don't think that's it. It was in this order:
G PG PG-13 PG-R R NC-17 Adult
According to the manual, it means "Parental Guidance Recommended" (whereas PG and PG-13 are "parental guidance suggested"). I've never heard of a movie given such a rating. I'm beginning to suspect it's used with the player to block or allow TV-14 or TV-MA, but I'm not sure.
