A hobby other than trying to make our lives miserable that is.

I don't want to have to have the government stamp of approval on everything I eat. I don't want to live a little longer on bland, tasteless foods. I don't want the government in the kitchen any more than I want them in the bedroom.

Can't these freaks get a girl or boyfriend and leave the rest of us alone?

quote:

A consumer group sued the federal government Thursday, saying that salt is killing tens of thousands of Americans and that regulators have done too little to control salt in food

quote:

"If we could reduce the sodium in processed and restaurant foods by half, we could save about 150,000 lives per year," he said.

In other words, if we all ate crappy tasting foods we could save .05% of the population. yay. We could do the same by banning cars. Heck, then we'd have to walk anywhere and would be REALLY healthy! Not to mention the reduction in smog.

I guess I should stop being sarcastic before they get ideas.

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where they made sugar illegal.

'Mmmm...this sugar shark is delicious.'

Umm, what is wrong with tasting your food, and adding salt if there's not enough for your liking? I'm all for reducing sodium content in prepared foods.

by *LAW*, DPR? You really want the government telling you how much salt things can contain?

Recipes used in pre-prepared foods have been taste-tested as well as market tested to see what people like.

Food labels are fine but having the government come in and change your recipe? That's completely crazy.

They fill us up with salt. Salt makes us thirsty for water. We drink lots of water filled with flouride. Our vital body fluids are depleted... it all makes sense now.

Do these guys actually believe half the ideas that they think of? There are so many sarcastic remarks I could make about this but I'm refraining so far.
