In case this hasn't been posted yet:

Hitchhiker's Guide exclusive trailer.

Not the same one showing theatrically, this is the Guide's own entry on movie trailers.

I love it. But, what happened to the Two headed guy?

It won't play.

He's still two-headed, just not the same way he was in the TV version...

Kind of a mixture of Men in Black and Red Dwarf. [Cool]

Why do all movie trailers hate me??? [Cry] It won't play. A movie trailer I actually want to watch and it won't play! [Cry]

Occasionally interrupted by a girl in a bikini.

"That does absolutely nothing for me..."

See, there's the problem with living in Australia, summer release movies come a full six months later [Frown]

See, now that is an excellent movie trailer. It's the embodiment of the film, it follows the style of the film, it's entertaining, and it effectively sells the film.

The only other trailers I've seen that so closely capture the essence of their respective subjects are trailers that [adult swim] did for Cowboy Bebop and FLCL. It seems they are no longer online, but I'll try to track them down.

Favorite trailers:

Ray - mainly because I hadn't heard about the movie at all. Just sittin' there in the theater waiting for another movie and suddenly there's fingers across a keyboard and drumsticks tapping cymbols and there's Ray Charles, 30 feet high and playing strong. I got chills.

Spider-Man - perfectly captured the movie without giving anything away. Also made me fever-crazy to see the movie, so it worked.

Comedian -- with the guy that does movie trailers. Hilarious.

Bachelor Party - probably my favorite trailer ever. They just took every scream from the movie -- and there are some doozies -- and ran 'em all one after another.

I also like trailers with footage that doesn't appear in the movie, like the one for The Hulk. And Face/Off, where we pan around John Travolta's face until we realize it's changed into Nicolas Cage.

Yeah, I hated movies like Face/Off when it came out, but that trailer made me want to see it. [Smile]

That is the best trailer, by the way, that I've seen in a long time.

Thanks for posting that! I was getting a little tired of the generic teaser trailer that doesn't show anything.

Did the books ever say how tall Marvin was? I always pictured him about average height, but maybe I missed the part where it said he was really small. Or maybe it never said at all!

Better link, you can pick your res. [Smile]

I laughed at that so hard that I had tears in my eyes. My favorite part is "...sounds like a 7 foot tall man who has been smoking cigarettes since childbirth..."
HA!!! [Big Grin]

yeah, what MEC said. [Blushing]

The first description of Marvin in Hitchhiker says:

"In one corner a robot sat humped, its gleaming brushed steel head hanging loosely between its gleaming brushed steel knees. It too was fairly new, but thought it was beautifully constructed and polished it somehow looked as if the various parts of its more or less humanoid body didn't quite fit properly."

So... No, it doesn't not say how tall Marvin is. *shrugs*

New trailer. Or maybe not, since I haven't seen the trailer showing in theaters.
