A friend of mine just found out she failed half her qualifying exams and has to re-take them.
I had applied for a university-wide teaching award, along with two other people from my department. I didn't really expect to get it, but the results (one of my colleagues won) still threw me.
The weather is utterly repulsive.
I have too, too much school stress.
This crappy day has to end some time, right?

Unless the rapture occurs today then there might be a possibility of time ending. But then you get into the whole 1,000 year thing. So chances are pretty good of it ending.

Heh...you know, oddly enough, that isn't the slightest bit comforting.

*hugs* I'm on the crappy day road as well, I hope tomorrow brings sunshine and good news.

*hugs* Thanks, Coccinelle...me, too.

*hugs* I know exactly what you mean. I wanted it to stay raining and instead it is snowing.

See, I don't mind rain (so much) and I don't mind snow (so much), but when they happen on the same day, the results are just gross.
<whine>And to top it all off, I have a headache.</whine>

pppbblllttt!
Again, not terribly comforting.
I know...it's going to be ok; it's just everything is very, very blah right now. I was going to go work out after school and work, but with the headache, I think I'm just going to go home and go to bed.

megan it looks like it's stopped snowing here (south west of bton). that's a plus.

Cool...at least when I head to the car it won't be gross.

I know not what to say - so I don't make it worse.

I want to sing you a song, Megan (and Coccinelle, and anyone else having a bad day). Singing to my friends usually cheers them up. Here goes *clears throat*:
The trumpet vine grew in the kitchen window And bloomed bright orange on the wall You sat in the morning light, holding a guitar As the first summer rains began to fall.
Like the gentle rain drops, your words fell in the air Making things so clear as we quietly sat there It reminded me of other times you had come before And brought a song or just walked in through the kitchen door.
Now it seems the truest words I ever heard from you Were said at kitchen tables we have known 'Cause somehow in that warm room with coffee on the stove Our hearts were really most at home.
Sitting at the table lookin' hard at you, Catchin' up on stories of the things we'd tried to do, And it seemed we really said the most when we didn't talk at all, But let the songs speak for us like the sunlight on the wall.
Now as we come and go, in sunshine and rain Some years are seen more clearly than the rest And if it weren't for kitchen songs and mornings spent with friends We all might lose the things we love the best.
I can see you sitting there Beneath the trumpet vine Sunlight through the window In the kitchen in my mind,
You came when you were needed I could not ask for more Than to turn to find you walkin' Through the kitchen door.
(((hugs)))
(Oh, I should add that that's "The Trumpet Vine" by Kate Wolf, I suppose.)
