OK, I stole the idea for this thread from Beverly. [Smile]

What are some of your favorite Hatrack screen names? My all time favorites:

Primal Curve
Dangermom
Lady Dove (make dove not war, ha, I love that!)
Hobbes (my email address addy for college)
Human
Advice for Robots
Ethics Gradient

I like many many, but the first one that springs to mind is Irami Osei-Frimpong.

Frimpong is just the coolest word ever.

I like yours, Beren. I am also rather fond of (from a purely aesthetic view, mind you, though I also like the posters themselves):

Space Opera
Icarus
Eaquae Legit
quidscribis
The Pixiest

To me, these are screen names that make me say, "Hmm. I wish I'd been that creative when I was choosing MY screen name."

Oh, yes, I forgot Space Opera. That is an awesome nick.

Btw, whatever happened to Ethics Gradient (named for a fictional space craft)?? Morbo

Posted by Little_Doctor (Member # 6635) on :

I was one of those that thought it would be "cool" to make their screen name something semi-witty from an OSC book. My name applies anyway because I kind of want to be a doctor when I'm older. I think. [Dont Know]

I like "A Rat Named Dog" although I'm not sure why. I just think it's a cool name.

I think the more touchy-feely Hatrack got, the less it was EG's scene. Which is too bad, because he's a total and complete studmuffin.

Ralphie [Hail]
rivka
The majority of my kids have names that begin with R. Hmm.
T_Smith

It's not that I like it overly, but I couldn't get it out of my head for a while, when I didn't have internet access: Diosmel Duda

Papa Moose goes without saying.
I really loved "pooka". Getting rid of that name was hard for me. But I guess I felt it was my penance.

I think Pascal's Lager is witty. Possibly too witty.

Noemon.

Sometimes when I get stuck in traffic (or encounter some other equally mind numbing activity), as my mind begins to wander, it's a bit uncanny how often it comes to rest on the pronunciation of Noemon.

>.< Don't tell me! What will I do with my free time if I know?

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

Yay. Folks like my Screen name. Cool [Big Grin]

I like A Rat Named Dog, Space Opera, mothertree sounds kind of cool. I like trees. And Glaphyra the Righteous sounds cool too.

I like the names that can be extended, like when Space Opera talks about Space Operetta, or when Dangermom talks about Dangerdad and Dangerbaby. I get a kick out of it.

And yeah, this is my real name, as real as Chris Bridges or Bob Scopatz.

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

Dude, you have a cool name

Posted by RackhamsRazor (Member # 5254) on :

I didn't know. And may I say that that just makes it so much cooler! You have a fabulous name, Irami. [Smile]

And Eru, I'm glad my nick makes you think of sunshine!! I like sunshine! [Smile]

Posted by Farmgirl (Member # 5567) on :

I have never even figured out how to pronounce Irami Osei-Frimpong...

Some of my favorite for the way they sound when I try to say them are:

quidscribis
Dagonee
JonnyNotSoBravo
Altáriël of Dorthonion (even though I probably say it wrong)

It's because I wasn't really sure who you were. I had heard people mention you, but I wasn't even sure of your gender. [Embarrassed] And then when I got back online I forgot about it, until you introduced yourself as Brinestone. And then it was like [Embarrassed] some more.

We can't forget Darth Mauve. I like "Wonko the Sane". I just don't primarily associate it with Hatrack.

On the whole Frimpong thing, I thought Bob_Scopatz wasn't really Bob's name. Is Chris Bridges a pseudonym? So your explanation has made things as clear as mud.

I'm partial to this one.

Posted by Shepherd (Member # 7380) on :

Raia
Eruve Nandiriel

Yea, even though I'm not such a fan of Telperioins posting he has the coolest name on the rack.

Annie.
I also really like Susie Derkins, but that's at Nauvoo, not here. [Dont Know]

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by Space Opera (Member # 6504) on :

Advice for Robots is my favorite, hands down. I've thought of changing mine to Space Opera for Robots, but decided that would be a bit too fan-girly. [Razz]

space opera

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

I like Hobbes, too. Anyone named after a tiger is awesome. [Smile]

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

I loved the name Wonko the Sane, even though I'd forgotten about it until I read this thread.

Irami, I agree with those who said your name was cool. I thought so, too, but I thought it was out of a book or something, not real, so yes, that makes it even cooler. And now I'm curious about where it comes from, culturally speaking, just because it's so interesting. Care to share?

[Big Grin] And I'm touched that I made the list. Woohoo! [ROFL]
