Just kidding. I'm actually running around northern Utah to hang with friends and hit the job fair at the U on Tuesday March 22nd. I can't make it down to Provo (and I know that's where most of you ARE), but I will be in Salt Lake and vicinity for most of the time. I was thinking dinner (as late as we want it) on Tuesday or Wednesday night (22nd and 23rd) would be fun and anyone and everyone is invited.
What do you guys think? Is during the day better? Is Salt Lake too far away?

I'll have to look at my schedule to see if one of those nights works, but if it's in Salt Lake, evening is definitely better for me. Also, we've had stuff in Salt Lake before, it's not too far. I think that Amka and Trisha both live closer to there than Provo. And I think raventh does, too.
Anyway, I'm in! And I have a car! So I can drive some cool BYU folk if they want to come. (Ashley? Paula(Pajeba)? Jennie(flyby)?)
Also, you might want to double post this on GC. Jon Boy and Ruth would probably be interested as well.

Annie mentioned over here that Cedars of Lebanon is around $10-15 per person. (sounds pretty reasonable.) She also said we'd probably need to get a reservation which I am willing to do.
Here's their dinner menu. Too bad we're not going on Friday night when they have belly dancers. just kidding!!
What do you think? I must admit to being a culture loser and that I've never had north-African food. I'm up for it if you guys are!

Ok, so Jon looked and a large pizza at The Pie costs about $13 and some change. A large would probably feed 3-4 people....I guess that wouldn't be too expensive and if you wanted to order side stuff, you could pay for it yourself?

If you believe that it is possible to put to much cheese on a Pizze, don't go to The Pie.
If, however, you do not subscribe to that foolish belief system, I highly recommend The Pie.
Also, skip the large and go for the Giant 23" Pizza.

I haven't been to Cedar's in a long time. I'm not sure if a Tuesday night will be so bad at the Pie. What we may want to do is solidify plans and make a reservation somewheres when we get closer to the event. If folks are more up for potlucking, I can have it at my house. Porter/Bev and I both have truckloads of kids. Though a Tuesday night shouldn't be quite as difficult to find a sitter for.

That's 15 people right there. I would say Cedars just because I've heard it's easier to fit a group that size at a table together. Do you think a 10-15 person group would be successful at socializing at the Pie?

Okay, Cedars is great, and if that's where we go I'm all for it. But if we want another option in the same price range, there's a really excellent Korean restaurant in town as well. It has a banquet room that we could probably reserve if we had that many people, and it's not so near downtown so it will be much easier to park.
That being said, when Annie came to town we went to Cedars and it was great. Nice atmosphere, good food, and very easy to sit around and talk. So I'd be cool with that also. Just thought I'd throw out another possibility in case anyone prefers Korean food to Lebanese.

I'm all about the potlucks, and Mark's place sounds both more central and generally cooler than mine. The sigs and avatars have gone all wacky since I was there. I'll have to go check it out when I'm not working. When you guffaw, people know you're not bookkeeping. Or they pray you're not, at least.
Okay, so I was going to ask if they have mallomars where you live and if so could I persuade you to bring a box I can pay you back for. My husband has always been curious about them.

I suggested Papa John's, and no one has complained over there. It doesn't really matter to me; I am sure I could go pick up the pizza from The Pie.

Sorry guys, But I won't be able to make it to Taylorsville. I'm running a rather hectic schedule and teaching a review session until 8 pm that night. When you were planning to meet close to the U campus or downtown I figured I could drop by, but the extra hour to drive to and from Taylorsville just isn't in the bag this week.
