"www.google.com not found." "No, it's there. Look again." "Oh! There it is!"
Repeat for most of the sites I surf to.
What can I do to fix this? I've tried rebooted my modem and router with no real change.
Is it my browser (firefox). My computer?
End-user incompatibility?

Try adding http:// before www. I'm not sure what causes this, but on my old computer I had the same problem, and that seemed to fix it.

Mine occaisionally does this, but not ALL the time.
No idea why...

Mine used to do this. It was a combination of the browser and network unreliablility. Stupid SBC.

My Safari does this occasionally. I don't even notice it anymore, I just reload the page and it works. I have no idea what causes it.

Would it be MY network here or my DSL service?

yes

I'd guess it's your ISP and not an internal problem.

Perhaps your computer feels neglected and is just doing it to get attention. Computers have such fragile self esteem.
As for the network flatulance, I dunno; have you tried beano?
