Jay vs. King of Men!

Who do you think would win?

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Jay is an alter ego made up by KoM to discredit Christians. Or KoM is an alter ego made up by Jay to discredit atheists. [Wink]

Funny I thought Dag was an alter ego of Beverly, but I wasn't sure why.

Posted by Da_Goat (Member # 5529) on :

The title of this topic reminds me of Celebrity Deathmatch. I miss that show.

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I think that I would win. [Razz]

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

Or they are each other's anti-particle and if ever the twain shall meet, they will both instantaneously annihilate each other.

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

That's the idea, Da_Goat! [Big Grin]

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I think that might just be it! [Razz]

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

Where does OSCfan fit in to all this?

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I'm not sure....... [Dont Know]

Really, Dan? You know Dag's a guy, right?

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I didn't know Dag was a guy for awhile so it really wouldn't suprise me.

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

But Dan's been around for yonks. You're fairly new, so it's understandable.

Posted by FriscoProofKatAlias (Member # 7691) on :

What are the rules? We are sitting in Banna's living room, ready to make bets once we know the nature of the contest.

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

Maybe he did but he thought you were a guy? Maybe he didn't know you were a girl? That is possible is it not? [Dont Know]

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

[Wink] Sure, it's possible, just less likely.

Dagonee sounds more feminine than beverly sounds masculine.

It would not matter. They both would claim the title.

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

This is a democracy. They don't get to decide. [Razz]

Kat, we just have to wait for them to show up and duke it out. Or someone could dramatize the scene for us. There are soooo many people here who could do that better than I. [Wink]

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

But see, I've met a guy named Beverly, at a Boy Scout camp. So it is possible that Dan knows one. You have to leave every possibilty open for consideration.

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

A guy named Beverly? Is that like the guy named Sue? [Wink]

Posted by mimsies (Member # 7418) on :

I know several boys name Dakota which is kinda like a boy named Sioux, which sounds like a boy named Sue.

I'm secure enough in my masculinity to feel no threat from that.

How YOU doin'?

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I've met a guy named Sue also. Anything is possible. In the immortal words of the Adidas people," Impossible is Nothing."

Ooo, Telp, did you mean to sound naughty there?

Posted by Chris Bridges (Member # 1138) on :

While we wait for them to show up, I'm going to perform my classic act of trying to understand both sides by taking on... myself!

The crowd is going wild here in the HatMatch Auditorium as Chris enters the ring and immediately begins a devastating attack on organized religion. Ooh, that quote from Chesterton had to hurt! But Chris rebounds on the ropes and fights back with an inciteful statement regarding the church's role in civilizing humanity. Look's like Chris is in real trouble now, folks! I've never seen such a brutal... wait! Wait! Is he... he is! Chris is beating himself savagely about the head and shoulders with humanist logic! This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen, folks, and I once watched a pair of Siamese twins get into a fistfight over the capital gains tax!

We'll be right back after this.

I'm glad to see my use of Chesterton is finally catching on... go Chris! no... the other one!

(and you forgot to credit the late, great Graham Chapman for the idea...)

Last hatrack deathmatch was between Donny Osmond, Billy Joel, and... uh.. was it Bono and John Lennon?

It was probably the "Ask a 27-year-old male homosexual" thread that you started.

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

If we've had our Deathmatch, it sure wasn't much of one. Jay backed out without much of a fight with some half-hearted excuses and KoM returned with a foul.

Posted by King of Men (Member # 6684) on :

*Enters the ring*

Since Jay isn't here, I declare myself the winner on a walkover. Or a default. Or whatever the technical name is for the other guy not showing up.

More seriously, at least I can post arguments other than "you're biased!"

Trisha: That must be it. [Razz]

Posted by Jim-Me (Member # 6426) on :

KoM: I believe the word you are looking for is "forfeit".

Posted by King of Men (Member # 6684) on :

Forfeit, right you are.

There was some discussion of this exact topic at BobnDana Con. The consensus was that Jay would become so incensed at the Blasphemy issuing from KoM's mouth that he would spontaneously explode. [Wink]

That is a good one. I now suggest a death match between BannaOJ and Icarus. [Razz]

How long are these deathmatches? I'm sure those puppies won't grow up in time to be of any use! [Razz]

Actually, they're all set to cute you to death right now.

Dang I totally missed this thread!
Wow…. Ok.
So what are the rules in these matches?
Are there feats of strength? I probably have him in the running distance thing and I have been getting back into the gym! Maybe we could have a bench off!
Feats of wits? Well, KoM is getting his PhD in Physics. I stopped at my BS in Computer Engineering. So I’ll be doomed here.
Sporting events? Maybe we’ll have a round of horse or even better “Orson Scott Card” on the basketball court. I do have some time in with my church league basketball team. Maybe I can bring my team and he can bring the Physics Dept team and we can have a 5 on 5 game to help settle things!
Let’s see… what other events…. Oh I got it! A hot dog eating contest. No contest here. My eating skills are legendary!
My University (West Virginia University) vs. KoM University (University of Cincinnati). Let’s see football, we beat’em. Basketball they got to the 2nd round. WVU got to the Elite 8. But hey, Cincinnati is in the Big East next season so we’ll play all the time! Cool.
Our Orson Scott Card collections! What a better thing for the final round then this for Hatrack! The tie breaker to end all tie breakers. Fun! Not sure how many I have. I’ll have to go count.

Ok, I really hope all this is for fun. Sure the two of us debate religious issues frequently, but I do respect his opinion and enjoy his posts. I respect him working on his doctorate in physics since I consider this to be some of the most interesting and cutting edge stuff.

Also, if my passionate opinions have offended any of you recently I apologize. I do tend to feel strongly about things and like to share.

Anyway….. enough of that! Back to the deathmatch!!

Passsionate opinions rarely bother people here.

Presenting them in an obnoxious way often does.

Did anyone else hear that last fit of laughter in the voice of Ahhhnold Svarzenegger?

Posted by Portabello (Member # 7710) on :

Actually, I hear it in the voice of the Arnold clone from The Simpsons.

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :

Yeah, it's more an Arnold impersonator than Arnold himself that I'm hearing. [Smile]

Puppies can bite ankles.

But the annoyed mom and dad of puppies, worried that you might hurt their babies -- those are the real threat.
