Were thou a single light,
I would be drawn to you:
wings beating, strong
and frail; soft powder to
fall and brush your cheek.

As not a light but a sun,
you, I cannot see. My eyes
close, so bright you burn.
Wings furl, and yet I find
here upon me is what I seek.

So, is this an ode to queen Mabe, or to queen ak?

Very lovely, but it feels incomplete. I would need either a longer title, or a longer poem.

*delighted

It was a spontaneous expression of the heart. Our beloved Anne Kate Ard ["aka," and also known as "Tatiana"] had left for awhile, somewhat troubled, and now she has returned. At least, she has returned to unscramble a few words and dally over some serious science.

I had been to shy to email her, and yet she is found. My heart overflows. [Smile]

Sheesh... thats what I meant! I was... um... just posting her name wrong to see if she would correct me. Yup.

She has gone by "ak" too, as well as "The Rope of Allah." I was just being fangirl giddy. [Smile]

So if you had a title long enough, you wouldn't need a poem?

There is an intimacy to private email that often makes me skittish.

I never get sweaty palms over public posts. [Smile]
