After my semester ends here at U of Illinois, my roommate and I will be taking a trip of some Eastern cities. I request your aid! I'd like to find people for my rommate and I to stay with in (or around) 3 cities:

Toronto
Boston
New York City

Enough of you know me that I have plenty of references for the people who don't. Anyway, that's what I need. Maybe I'll get to meet some more Jatraqueros in the process :-)

Edit: FYI, here are the nights we'd need to stay in each city:

Toronto: May 16th and 17th

Boston: May 18th and 19th

New York City: May 20th and 21st (the 22nd if possible but not necessary)

These are all cities with excellent and welcoming homeless communities. Not only can you sleep anywhere you wish, you can also engage in scintillating conversations with schizophrenics and alcohol-challenged dumpies (downwardly mobile professionals). Plus, when hungry, there is a vast selection of widely varied dumpsters to dive in.

Unless you're one of those picky people who want a bed.

Ehehe.

We could have a gathering in Boston for you! We're always looking excuses for that! (or maybe that's just me...)

Hey! Some of my best conversations have been with the homeless community in Boston! The schizophrenia amd alcohol add meat and substance to what would otherwise have been a boring exchange. For example, when someone asks you for change and you say you havent got any to spare(which I tend to say when they reek of alcohol), and they chase you down the street, screaming gibberish and profanities at your back, and people scurry to get out of your way lest they too be caught in the insanity, now thats just plain fun.
NY, now, you might be better off there. They are more likely to offer you a leg of pigeon and a sip of home brew over their roaring trash can fire.

But I do live fairly close to Boston, about 1 hour away, and we might be able to meet up if you are in town....

Is there anyone from Toronto or NYC out there? ::coughnarrcough::

And you Adam! I've been to your place in Manhattan before. If you could take us for our NYC days that'd be great :-D

And if narr can say he is in NYC, then it's close enough.

I don't know about giving you a place to stay (Providence is a little out of the way), but it'd be fun to have a mini Boston clump gathering. Bartley Burger anyone? [Smile]

Mack just told me she'd let us stay with her for the Boston part :-)

So just NYC and Toronto left.

I should mention my roommate is a 29-year old Korean exchange student. He's a high school history teacher in Korea and he's into breeding cocker spaniels, which gonna start pursuing professionally.

Sounds good Adam. Thanks for trying to help :-) I may be able to get a place that will be less crazy but further away, although it's uncertain until tomorrow.
