I'm a bit rusty.

Psst, Choobak, you spelled "Humrrumf murf" wrong. It should be spelled "Humrump murff", which explains why Raia didn't get it. [Smile]

For the Star Wars wookie or the Passed Out wookie?

I did say a pair of clippers. [Big Grin]

Flea dip? Why not just a REALLY big tube of Advantage?

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

Because I am not going to take a tube of anything to a shaved wookie. [Big Grin]

-Trevor

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

But they're passed out! And you just squeeze it on the back of the neck, eliminating the need to shave him. Unless you get off on that kind of thing.

Posted by UofUlawguy (Member # 5492) on :

Isn't wookiee spelled with two E's?

(Kind of like how Kashyyyk is spelled with three Y's. What's up with wookiees and vowels, anyway?)

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

Nah, the shave is cosmetic.

The flea dip is adding insult to injury. [Big Grin]

Posted by fiazko (Member # 5812) on :

sm, what about "and sometimes y"?

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Just cause it sometimes sounds like or functions like a vowel doesn't make it one. [Razz]

And I suppose being sweet and chocolatey doesn't make me a cookie.

At risk of sounding like a silly gamer/star wars nerd,

The species you are referring to is in fact spelled with two E's as in "wookiee."

Sad that *this* is what I chose to write for my first post on these forums. I will do penance later.

Posted by Lyrhawn (Member # 7039) on :

How do you speak Wookiee with a French accent?

l'urnnnn, au urf urf urrr?

Posted by Choobak (Member # 7083) on :

Yes, you speak it right with a french accent [Wink]

About wookiee, i thought it took just one "e". But, i must look on french translation of books.
maybe it was a difference...

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

I thought it was one "e" too...

But maybe not.

Posted by Choobak (Member # 7083) on :

I just want to correct vocabulary.

Wookie is spelled with just one "e", and not more. I verified on many site, and on lot of english books (rpg and novels). each time, it is writen "Wookie".

murmnnnmmf !!!! [Hat]

whats a wookie

Posted by UofUlawguy (Member # 5492) on :

Try doing a Google search for "Wookiee" "Wookiee spelling" or even "Wookie spelling".

It's definitely Wookiee.

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

I can't believe I'm doing this, but...

http://shop.starwars.com/search/?keywords1=wookie

According to them, it's "wookie".

Or, if you really don't care, it's "wookiee."

I can't believe I started this argument! Sorry, folks!

But...

it is, in fact, two 'e's.

[Big Grin]

Posted by Choobak (Member # 7083) on :

Sorry, but in my original edition of the StarWars rpg it is with one "e". How is it write in the timoty Zahn's trilogy ? I remember it was Wookie, but i read it a long time ago...

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

Wookie is singular. Wookiee is possessive and/or descriptor.

You might shoot a Wookie, but he might return fire with a Wookiee bowcaster.

I don't know - I just felt the need to be wierd. [Big Grin]

-Trevor

Posted by UofUlawguy (Member # 5492) on :

The Zahn trilogy is the only fragment of Star Wars fiction I have ever read (aside from a short collection titled something like the Lando Calrissian Chronicles). Wookiee is the only way I have ever seen the word spelled in regularly-published fiction. Thus, I can only conlude that Zahn spelled it Wookiee, even though I don't have his books here for reference.

You did agree wooky is spelled with a "y," right?

Posted by Choobak (Member # 7083) on :

In fact it's "Wookiee". I research that a lot.
-edit-
But, maybe it's like Russian or Japannese : The writing system is totally different. So we may use the orthograph we want.
