One of my friends from church is planning to go to seminary this fall. She feels called to be a pastor. I know that it's still hard for women to go into the ministry, and I was wondering if you would be willing to correspond with her by e-mail once or twice so she can hear what you have to say about being a woman pastor. She is also Methodist, so I thought your point of view would be especially helpful.
I know you're busy, and you just got back from your honeymoon, so don't feel obligated, please. And there's no rush either. I don't think she even starts school until the fall. If you're willing, let me know and I'll e-mail you her address.

I'd be happy to. Do you know which seminary she's planning to attend?

Not a clue. She's talked about moving to West Virginia, but I can't remember if that's where her family is, or where the seminary is.

Dana, just checking: did you get my e-mail?

I did. I haven't managed to write anything yet, though. Is she expecting an e-mail, or do I have to explain who this strager is who's writing to her?

I told her a little bit about you, so she shouldn't be surprised when she gets your e-mail.
