POA got started when all the dogs and cats died from a crazy disease and they were replaced with gorillas or chimps.

Come on though, the idea has merit. If we can train dogs to sniff stuff out, and rats to wear cameras and search for people in collapsed buildings, and dolphins to detect underwater mines, why not monkeys, which we know to be one of the smarter animals on the planet?

I'm not disputing the potential advantages here - I just found the thought amusing. [Big Grin]

But there are some logistical drawbacks as well - those monkeys are going to be expensive to replace and they aren't strong enough to wear kevlar.
