Hey, Kent - you are a Star Wars fan, LDS, and married. Is there any chance you are my brother?

Posted by Cow-Eating Man (Member # 4491) on :

If those are the only criteria, he could also be Jon Boy, T_Smith, Pat or any number of others.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

My brother's name is Kent.

Yeah, we were Kent & Katie. My mom thought it was cute.

Oh, sure, go poking holes in my theories.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Welcome, Kent, by the way, even if you aren't my brother.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

*pout* He's ignoring me.

He IS my brother!

Posted by Kent (Member # 7850) on :

I'm your brother in spirit, if not biologically. I'm surprised everyone has been so welcoming. As meber 7850 I'm surprised you even noticed I'm here. I've been reading Ornery and posting there for years, but everyone there is too smart for me to keep up with.

I took Hebrew in college and am married, with four daughters. I'm a fan of old Star Wars, but not the new ones.

Thanks for the welcome.

Don't be surprised. [Smile] Hatrack is a very welcoming place.

And you're an interesting newbie -- we are particularly fond of those.

Bruchim Haba'im, Kent! [Wave]

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Don't worry, she won't eat you if she has to pay shipping. We worked out last night that while my daughter would be perfectly acceptable for a ritual sacrifice, she's only interested if I deliver at no cost. [Roll Eyes]

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

I didn't say no cost! I merely expressed dismay that you didn't provide delivery.

A modest delivery fee seems quite reasonable.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

And I said, you pay the airfare, I'll deliver her. [Razz]

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

That does not qualify as a "modest fee." [Roll Eyes]

Howdy, Kent! Welcome to the place I like to call, " Home of the Padded Walls." [Big Grin] We're all a little bit insane here. Welcome anyways. [Wave]

rivka, are mormons part of a kosher diet? [Wink]

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

Yeah, you just can't have them with dairy products.

Welcome Kent!

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Derrell, it largely depends on how they are slaughtered...

Punk newbies that think they're better than us....

(j/k)

Welcome.

And, wait, if Mormons eat babies and Jews eat Mormons, who eats the Jews? And who do the babies eat to make it a full circle?

Not true. People are pareve.

Derrell, it largely depends on how they are slaughtered...
Also not true. People do not require proper shechita (ritual slaughter).

*is strongly reminded of Tom Lehrer's song "National Brotherhood Week"*

♪ Oh the Protestants hate the Catholics,
And the Catholics hate the Protestants,
And the Hindus hate the Muslims,
And everybody hates the Jews! ♫

But rivka, I thought that's what I was supposed to be sending you the baby for! Ritual Passover slaughter!

My entire worldview is shattered.

Traditionally, a lamb is used.

You takes what you can gets, I spose.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

*sighs* Rivka, don't you know about your own religion? Everyone knows that Jews eat a Christian baby at Passover. Of course, some other Christians say that's why Mormons have so many babies, because they don't get stolen by Jews, but we know we're Christian.

Do I look like Leopold Hilsner to you?

I'm really getting uncomfortable with my name becoming associated with human sacrifice and other acts of inhumanity. I should have used an alias like Joe or Fred. [Angst]

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

*laughs* Just because the baby's getting eaten, doesn't mean she's not human. It's all good.

Posted by Kent (Member # 7850) on :

Speaking of Kent associations, back when I was a kid my brother had a superman doll roughly the same size as my Barbie dolls. We always just called him Kent, even when he was saving people. So I have very definite ideas of what Kents should be like.

I'm still hung up on the fact that people were too smart on Ornery.... so he came here...

[Razz]

Posted by Kent (Member # 7850) on :

It took me five years on Ornery for me to figure out that they were smarter than me, so how smart do you think I am? [Dont Know]

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Obviously not smart enough to avoid implying we're stupid. [Taunt]

Posted by Kent (Member # 7850) on :

I didn't mean "all" of you, maybe just YOU. Yes, you. You know who you are.

"Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of it's head with a note that says "You." After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done." [Big Grin]

We don't want to scare him off before we can round everyone up for the hazing! And who's eating the newbies these days? JT Stryker?

Posted by Alcon (Member # 6645) on :

He's only allowed to eat some of them.

The critiera are very selective.

This one implied (even if inadvertantly) we're stupid, he may be eaten [Razz]

Posted by Megan (Member # 5290) on :

*pokes everybody*

Silly jatraqueros...the true way to scare a newbie is to just stare at him. He'll be paralyzed with fear.

THEN we can tie him up and torture him.

Welcome, Kent!
