The long arm of the law now has Anna Ayala firmly in hand. The fickle finger of fate has turned Ms. Ayala from "victim" to "perpetrator."

Wendy's, which has suffered drops in business since her claim of finding a severed finger tip in her chili, has only one thing to say about her arrest:

"We can definitely digit." [Razz]

Seriously, here's the article, with some nifty CSI stuff leading to the arrest:

Police: No evidence to support woman's finger story

quote:
Police investigators say no one outside of her family who was at the Monterey Road Wendy's restaurant on March 22 reported seeing the finger in Ayala's mouth or seeing her spit it out, according to police investigator Christopher Wilson.

Although Ayala and several of her relatives said they vomited in reaction, police found no evidence that anyone vomited, and employees said they did not clean up any vomit that night.

All employees denied knowledge or involvement, police said. The California Department of Health Services traced the food products back, and found no contamination or accidents that could account for the severed finger.

And finally, testing conducted by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office showed the finger had not been cooked at 170 degrees for three hours, as Wendy's chili recipe is. The tests also ``disproved some of the statements made by suspect Anna Ayala in regards the finger in her chili.''

Where the finger came from, however, was not disclosed, if investigators know.

I'm glad she got nailed.

Yep, mothertree. That's what she gets for thumbing her nose at the system.

Puns aside, I hope they do something really awful to this woman. Not just for hurting Wendy's sales but....

I useda like Wendy's chili =(

As a rule of thumb, don't look to Bob and Doug MacKenzie for good ideas.

Ya know, the investigators probably noticed some flaws in her story right from the start. Those early gaps surely spurred them to dig a little deeper. Yep, those pre-hints I'll wager led to her downfall.

Hopefully, you'll get over it, Pixiest.

I heard that Wendy's was kind of concerned about the cost of napkins used with messy dishes like chili. So now they're going to try something new.

Your chili will now be served with a fingerbowl.

I would make a point of eating at Wendy's more often, but I almost never eat out anymore.

I think it's especially sad that Wendy's chili was such a great resource for low-carb dieters back in the day.

And, uh, I don't get punwit's post. Maybe I should take a break.

**News Flash**

This story may get deeper, darker and weirder...

Someone just dug up an old police report in which Ms. Ayala was charged with assault.

She gave somebody a knuckle sandwich! [Eek!]

I'm just glad that Wendy's was able to stub out the rumors about their food.

I've heard that they plan to let Anna Ayala off a little easier if she agrees to travel the country making stump speeches about the evils of this kind of behavior.

I recognize "pre-hints I'll," but if there are additional ones I'm missing them, too, mothertree.

I wonder if this woman can even understand why Wendy's nose is out of joint about this incident.

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

Noemon, she's probably unable to grasp why other people are ticked off at her.

Maybe now that this is all over, the media will give it arrest....

That's all they is and they ain't no more....

I tried to figure out how to append age to that pun but I was unsuccessful

Well, maybe someone will come along who can give you a few pointers.

Did you hear that the woman will be setting up her own chili shop? It'll be called Phil-Angie's.

I know why the police stopped her - her story was so disjointed.

Edit: For the better pun.

Hopefully she'll serve a double digit sentence for this.
