BEST SCI-FI MMORPG EVER!

Oh where to begin?

1: Complete player based economy where the player created "corporations" are steadily becomming more powerful then the AI controlled "empires".

2: A single persistent universe/server

3: You can "warp" when in a system and use jump gates to "jump" to another systen.

4: You can customize your ship and what skillz it uses to configure your role so that eventually your ship could "cloak" if you travel down that path or configure it to be an uber mining ship, you mine asteroids to get a wide variarity or ores which you sell on the market, and because its a player based market economy what you sell and how much you sell it for and the price you sell it for could have an effect on prices.

5: You can "buy" ships from a frigate to a Battleship. And each of the 4 races has its own unique feel to its ships.

6: a 14 day free trial is offered.

7: the graphics are stunning

8: the warz are massive and highly entertaining experiances.

Play it! Or else the muffin man will come to get you.

Looks interesting. I'm downloading the game trailer now. I would sign up, but the NBA finals is already taking up too much of my valuable free time. [Smile]

Any chance of forming a Hatrack Alliance?

A Hatrack Corporation? Possible. If enough of us decide to play, but ya I think you need a million ISK (their currency) and to have learned alot of skillz. However I'm sure that after a couple of weeks of playing we should be able to form it, and also by then hopefully a bunch of hatrackers would've joined.

(At the beginning you make around 10k per mining operation lasting around 5 minutes)

Now the great thing about this game is time management. You can play it windowed (as I am doing right now) and do other things at the same time as you play it. Its one of those monthly subscription thingies though, so I'm on ym free trial but I'll be getting a job soon maybe just after the trial ends.

I don't think the free trial is available on the eve online website? I do believe you can get one if you sign up to be a member of mmorpg.com, though.

Hmmf. MMORPGs take away from your valuable Paradox-playing time. Even HoI2 is better than this waste.

*Shakes head sadly at heresy*

Stop making jibs at Hoi2 and this isnt heresy. Try the free trial and trust me you'll be addicted its played on a 3-DIMENSIONAL plane!!! Space combat realism at last!

I've head reviews making it out to be forever-online. If you don't have a corp, your time will be spent just travelling empty space for hours doing basic trading actions.

It does have a die-hard following though.

"You can play it windowed (as I am doing right now) and do other things at the same time as you play it."

This is one of the reasons that I generally don't enjoy MMORPGs. When one of the virtues of a game is "you can switch away from the game and do something else," I'm left thinking that maybe it's not such a ringing endorsement.

Does anyone else think this is funny?

I tried to use the free 2 week trial, but I can't get it to log on without it trying to charge me.
