We have 2 cars and still haven't named them yet. My last car that I named was when I was single and it was a 81 Toyota Corona named "Artemis". My husband when I was dating him named his car "Scotty" and we had that car for a while.
Does anyone have any ideas for a Toyota Camry and Honda Civic? I like to name them after cartoon characters.. my first car was named "Demona" (a character in "Disney's Gargoyles")

My first car was a '77 Tbird with a 351 bored to 400, named Big Red,
Part of me thinks it hilarious that anthrapamorphize inanimate objects and the other part cries when your beloved companion goes to the scrap heap cause there is no other recourse.
My current car is a '99 Subaru Impreza RS named Scooby.
You have to drive a car before you can name it.

I thought this was going to be where we posted the names of our own cars. I will anyway. I have a Cavalier named Helen of Troy. When I was trying to name it, I asked my sister what she thought I should name it. At the time, she really liked a boy named Troy. So she said Troy. I said that my car is a girl, and she's very beautiful, so I named her Helen of Troy.
As for your cars, named after cartoon characters... there's just so many choices! Cogsworth, Sebastian, Kuzco, Darkwing Duck! The possibilities are endless.

Pretty much everyone we've talked to says the same thing -- Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey. We compared various stuff online, but the only ones we test-drove were Siennas (Siennae?). And we bought the older, cheaper one (because we're older and cheaper).

Seats seven. With seven seated, there won't be much storage space, but there are only four of us, so there's a good amount of room, and there'll be more if we actually take out the back seats rather than just fold them down. Maybe we've gotten a little spoiled space-wise, since our other minivan is a Grand Voyager.
The ride is smooth and excellent. We got the quad seating rather than the bench, but that's because the kids seem to do just a little better when they can't reach each other so well. In the long run, it probably makes it tougher to get into the back. But if/when we have another kid, we can leave one of the seats out, put the older kids in the very back, baby in the other mid-row seat, and have floor space for diaper changes.
The seats aren't as adjustable (location-wise) in this as in our Voyager, but overall I think we prefer this one.
And there are like 600 places for me to put a cup of coffee. *smile*

I had never heard of naming cars until my wife told me she named her first car (a 1993 Nissan Sentra) Murphy.
Sadly, we had to sell Murphy a year ago when we bought our new van, which is, coincidentally enough, a Toyota Sienna, which has not yet been named, at least to my knowledge.
The Sienna is fantastic, by the way. We tested the Honda, the new Nissan, the Mazda, the Ford, even the Kia. We are thrilled with our choice. Ours seats eight, though with three car seats the most we can really fit is six.

This thread could be a "tell us your car's name thread". I actually made that thread back in 2000 (believe it or not) but it's time to do it again.
I think cars should have names... boats have names why not cars!? When I was little my dad had a sailboat named "Lobo". I miss that boat.
My brother actually had a truck he named Tod, meaning Truck of Doom.

None of my cars have ever had a name that is repeatable in public. It might have something to do with the fact that my dad has taken me to the repossessed/towed car auctions to buy them, and I wasn't allowed to spend more than $200 on a running a vehicle.
My dad's truck however has always been called 'the beast.' It's a 3/4 ton ford diesel the original paint is long since gone and it has a gray matte primer that is beginning to rust in some places. However it gets its name from the fact that it can't stall out unless it's in 4th gear. I can come to a complete stop in first, second or third, gear, and the thing will keep on chugging. Not that I did it on purpose, but it was a good vehicle to learn to drive a stick in.

We took Mooselet to the doc yesterday (103.5 temp, but he's pretty ok now). I checked in, then sat down and waited. Maybe 15 minutes later, I walked back up to the counter because I realized I hadn't paid the co-pay.
When the person behind the counter looked it up, she showed that we had two insurances, and I guess assumed that between them we'd end up paying nothing. I was pretty sure we had only one, and that we needed to pay ten bucks. She asked if it was Blue Shield, and I confirmed that it was. She showed two listed -- Blue Shield HMO, and Blue Shield POS. I told her I was pretty sure that we had the HMO, and that I didn't even know what a POS was, other than a fitting description for my car. That got chuckles from several of the people behind the counter.
This thread seemed a fitting place for such information.

I've never seen the point in naming cars. I guess I just think it is a hunk of steel. I just refer to it as my car. Though, a few years ago, my then girlfriend used to always give me a hard time about the fact that my car didn't have a name. Her car was named "cookie monster." Evidentally the fact that it was blue, made that a good name for it. I told her that she could give my car a name...but she said that it wouldn't be the same. So finally, I relented and named it Bob. I figured if I had to name the car, I would be a smart ass and give it a generic name. I was far more amused by it than she was though.
