HELP

I put off going to the dentist for WAY too long and now my tooth starts hurting every hour or two, or if I go outside and it's cold it hurts when I come back in, or when I'm not careful and I eat or drink something too hot or cold.

And by "hurts" I mean, "Feels like someone's pulling out the entire right side of my mouth forcibly with white-hot tongs never felt this kind of pain before in my life."

I'm TRYING to get a dentist appointment ASAP.

What do I do in the meantime? Ibuprofin doesn't even put the slightest dent in it. Ambesol doesn't help.

Help???

Put some half strength hydrogen peroxide in a glass (about a half inch of peroxide, half an inch of water, in a wide glass or mug; use your best judgement otherwise). Rinse, swishing around the tooth that hurts, and spit with it until it's gone. Do this up to (I think) 6 times a day. It can help with the pain, at least sometimes.

Clove oil. It may sound like snake oil, but it works pretty well for a home remedy. When I had to get a dry socket packed last summer, the dentist actually used clove paste.

Tequila.

Repeat as necessary.
