Yeah, knew about this for a while, actually. It's like a zombie Marilyn Monroe... it was a sight to behold, but bringing it back after it has obviously died is not going to get the boys flocking towards it.
However, the animated one might work.

I have to admit, I never saw the clone wars cartoons. It's good to hear that they turned out well, and I hope the future shows are also good. That said, I'm not optimistic.

I'm GEEKED about more Clone Wars cartoons. The series on Cartoon Network right now is fantastic, and I was hoping to get more out of it.
As for the TV show. I doubt it will be successful. Lucas has been talking about doing a television series for awhile now, but I don't really it see it being very successful, unless somehow he pulls together a fantastic team to make it happen. Star Trek has survived many incarnations, it's possible that Star Wars could too. It all depends on how it is done, and Lucas has to realize that no matter what he does, he will make enemies doing it.
I'm still holding out for the Thrawn Trilogy being made into VII VIII and IX.

DUDE! Thrawn Trilogy would be awesome. Timothy Zahn's a good writer. Actually, come to think of it, Zahn should have helped write the prequels.

To be honest, I never did see the Star Wars Christmas special, but judging from the number of curse words Anthony Daniels used to describe it in Star Wars Insider...I consider myself lucky. And yes, I agree with you, I hope it doesn't turn out that way either.

Will a tv show screw with the continuity fans are so used to? We know from other tv shows made from movies (stargate, buffy, highlander) that tptb take certain liberties in that regard. Will the books still be considered official?
No, I think the show won't be geared toward that demographic.

Boba wasn't actually Mandalorian, he just used their armor. The name of his actual home world esacapes me. Only because I outright reject the Ep II notion that he was cloned from Jango Fett, who, as far as I'm concerned, doesn't exist.
I think a cool show would be something like the Han Solo Adventures. Turn the AC Crispin Han Solo Trilogy into a TV show and show him blasting around the galaxy with Chewbacca. Just has to be done right.

A tv show can obviously get away with a lot more than a film can. Matter of fact, the stories of the prequel films may even have made good television. If the program is carried through and given a decent slot time I can imagine it becoming popular and successful.

I was referring to the books. Lucas never established canon movie history for Boba Fett. But in the Bounty Hunter trilogy books his history was thouroughly established.

Unofrtunately, George Lucas did establish movie canon history for Boba Fett. Just because you're so stuck on some backhistory written by someone who amounts to little more than a fan author does not nullify this. The history established in the Bounter Hunter trilogy (whatever it is; I haven't read it) doesn't count any longer.
