of the voice you'd know anywhere?

After several years of extremely minimal contact, I've spoken to my ex-husband a couple of times this week concerning some trouble our son has been having.

It's been kind of weird, because I don't recognize his voice anymore. His was absolutely the voice I'd know anywhere... we were married for nearly 20 years. He was in the Navy when we were first married and used to call me at strange hours from all over the world, and with one word, I'd know it was him. After he got out of the military, he would call me 3 or 4 times a day from work just to say hello or "I love you". I used to hear his voice in my dreams. And now, even when I'm calling him and expecting him to answer, I don't know his voice.

It's kind of sad, but at the same time liberating. I heard "Insensitive" a while ago and it made me think of this. Hearing old songs brings out weird thoughts sometimes.

Wow. From being in your dreams to hardly recognizing his voice. That is a little sad. [Frown] Proof that you've moved on, I guess, maui babe. [Smile]

I'm sure that's rather disconcerting... I hope you stay with the "liberating" point of view. [Smile] *hug*

Insensitive is not what I'd classify as an 'old song.'
