Sorry if this has been posted before, but I haven't been following the forums as much lately.

So I've seen that new movie starring Orlando Bloom that apparently takes place during the Crusades. Having recently read Enchantment, I find it laughable to try to believe Bloom as someone able to wear armor, hold a lance, or swing a broadsword with anything close to effectiveness. I was willing to overlook his role as a swordsmith in Pirates of the Caribbean but I can't help but chuckle at the previews for this new movie.

I'm not saying I don't like Orlando Bloom as an actor; I'm just saying he's a lot more believable as Legolas than as a knight or smith.

I'm going to reserve judgment until I see the movie...

..then again. I'm female. Bloom can hold anything he wants and swing anything he wants, and I'll probably still swoon...

That's what fantasy is all about.

I read somewhere that he DID gain like 20 lbs in muscle for the part.

I was surprised when I saw the trailer for this movie. Orlando Bloom has usually played the scrawny, pretty boy part. But it looks like he really beefed up for this movie, I was shocked to see that he actually looked rugged, manly, like he could fight off the bad guys.

I still don't know what exactly the movie is about, but I'd like to see it, it looks pretty cool. And it has Orlando Bloom in it. [Wink]

I don't know who Orlando Bloom is, but I'm interested in the news that there's a movie coming out that's set in the Crusades. Anyone know what it's actually about?

It's called Kingdom of Heaven. You might look it up on IMDB.com.

Oh, he's from Canterbury. I've been there. It's a really charming town. [Smile]

(Sorry. As a straight guy, my attention span for looking at pictures of "hot guys" is really short. But I can see why women would want to watch this guy. Kind of like how I went to see Sin City only because Jessica Alba was in it.)

[ROFL]

Last night Nathan and I watched Blade Trinity. I commented that Drake (dracula, the vampire patriarch god or whatever) was a pretty damn hot progenitor of a race.

Nathan said he had no idea what I was talking about.

Telp! Back me up!

Pirates of the Carribean: Blacksmith discovers has great father- goes on to do great things.

Kingdom of Heaven: Blacksmith discovers has great father- goes on to do great things.

No kidding. I may not like him that much as an actor, but he sure is a looker [Smile]

Honestly, I'm not that wild about Orlando Bloom. He's too much of a pretty-boy for me. Oh, he's *very* good looking, but I prefer this one. Mmmm...hot and cute all rolled into one!
