I wasn't there when it happened but it's neat observing how the posters and Smith interract. A few tell to his face their hatred of his films and Smith (triumphantly) flames them.
Interesting what happens when famous personalities post at forums...

I used to (but not anymore) spend time on View Askew, Kevin Smith's own page. He posted (and perhaps still does) quite frequently on there.

He's a hometown Jersey Boy comic book geek who made a low budget movie about wisecracking foul mouthed clerks who make endless Star Wars references, and he payed for it by maxing out all his credit cards. That film was bought at sundance and became a huge cult hit.
And now he's backed by Studios, writes best-selling comic titles, and is very well known for being quite vocal and unafraid to burn any bridges. He also hired and befriended Ben Affleck before he was BEN AFFLECK, and was essential in getting GOOD WILL HUNTING made.
Now, word on the street is that he may be involved in the new live action Star Wars TV series.
Basically, he's the Fanboy version of a Cinderella Story.

The only KS movie I've liked so far is Dogma - which I now watch on at least a monthly basis because I like it that much. Not because it's Ben and Matt but cause the movie is funny as <bleep> The Jay character is one of my big turn-offs.

If this is a true quote of something this FAMOUS Kevin Smith posted then he sounds like a real jerk. Of course we're missing the context of the posts that caused him to respond like this.
Regardless, "when famous people post" they are simply posting on a forum like the rest of us unfamous (or infamous if you prefer)human beings. Why let it upset you more?

I tried to find the place where KS makes the comment cited above, but couldn't find it.
I did find some of his other posts on the link given in your original post. Everything that I read by him seemed appropriate and "anti-inflamatory".
It's one thing to tell someone that you don't appreciate their work, but entirely another to say something as gross as Galactucus post #103. To which Kevin Smith did NOT deign to reply from what I read.
So while that isolated quote made him sound like a real jerk - I'm sure everyone can be made to sound like a jerk when quoted out of context.
