I think thats the title of it. I love the ender series/shadow series. I enjoyed Folk of the fringes...

And i just can't get myself to get through seventh son. I get like 100 pages in and im just BORED. Does it get better? Or is there anything to look forward too? Is it a good series? Thanks

It may just be that you're not the right audience for the Alvin Maker series. It sucked me in pretty quickly, but I love that kind of stuff anyway. I would just say you should at least try to finish the book. If you don't like it by the end, you know there's no reason to continue the series. If you get so bored you can't finish the book, well, then just stop. There's no shame in not enjoying a particular book.

Someone who apparently likes Robert Jordan is unable to finish Seventh Son? Something is very wrong with your boredom detector.

When someone I know saw that I was reading Speaker for the Dead, he got very excited and said I just had to read the Alvin Maker series. I started reading them, and quite honestly, I couldn't get into them until the middle of the second book, Red Prophet. After that, I loved them, but it did take me one and a half books.

So I say, just keep reading, and if you don't like it by the end of the second one, then you can stop. [Wink]

I think Seventh Son and Red Prophet to be among the best books I have ever read, although Seventh Son is a lot of set-up to begin with; I like Jordan too, but had teh same problem with Eye of the World that you are having with Seventh Son.

Turns out the problems I had with EotW were true, it just took 4 books for the flaws to become more evident.
