I think that a lot. We have enough people to have a major RPG event here. i was thinking it was about time Eruve Telperion and I went on a quest.

Are you talking D&D?
Or some other system?

Posted by Altáriël of Dorthonion (Member # 6473) on :

Not necessarily. I just want us to write down a story where we go on a quest for something. Each of us will post for ourselves and so the story will develop. The rest of the members could send us monsters and stuff for us to defeat and continue on our story. I guess only each person would be able to send us only one monster.

I got it. We could base it on the Hatrack River City of the 1830's. We'll all write our own characters and role play that way. Wow... this will be great. Why haven't we ever done this?

How can Telp go on a quest? He's a tree! [Big Grin]

Dagonee
"Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!"

Beats me. I guess since we would be in that setting people could have knacks too. I'd like to have a knack. What would it be?

Jay: [Roll Eyes]

Alt, there's already a forum here for Hatrack 1830s, and Battle School. [Smile]

Personally, I don't really care for free-form RPGs, I prefer to work with a system, like D&D.

Posted by Altáriël of Dorthonion (Member # 6473) on :

Yeah thats true, thats why I was thinking of something more like a Middle Earth setting. I've anted to do this for the longest time. I just never actually mentioned it...

There are already several play-by-email Hatrack RPGs going on. Some have been running for years. [Smile]

I don't think that's quite what she means, twink. [Wink]

Edit: By the way, have you guys been on a break since October, or are you just that far behind?

Also:

quote:
"Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!"
That video was too funny for words. [Big Grin]

What about Tom's game? It still going?

Posted by Zalmoxis (Member # 2327) on :

I thought Hatrack was an RPG. Clearly I've been going about this all wrong.

So post count does not equal XP? That's a relief.

And now I can stop using smilies. The only reason I caved and started using them in the first place is because I thought that they'd raise my social points.

[Big Grin]

I would still have liked to run a mute Bard character. But, perhaps only as a guest....

Hm, I lost my reply due to a connectivity burp at work. Long story short, I'm that far behind.

Edit: Tom's game hasn't moved since before Sophie was born, IIRC. [Smile]

What I lack in quality I make up for in quantity.

I actually tried to kick my game alive a month or so ago, but response was pretty poor. So I think it's dead.

Exactly. It takes enough energy keeping one character straight.

Who were we missing? Slash was there, so was I and Karl. Jeff might not have known we were back.

Olivia answered didn't she?

I got replies from you and Karl, Mark. [Frown]

I suppose this means that I can stop updating my flowchart chart of Hatrack relationships and social standings.

Or perhaps not.

I could have sworn Ty replied.

I will checky my archives.

World of warcraft is a massively multiplayer game, that allows group of people to make "guilds" and help each other through the game.

Check into that. Great game too.

I thought of making more of a "posting only" kind that you'd find in like MSN groups and stuff. We could draw and scan our characters and just write out a story on them.

If we have a Hatrack RPG, I wanna be a 2nd Level Scopatz.

DM: "You see a gazebo..."

Player 1: "I cast fireball!"
Player 2: "Is it attacking us?"
Player 3: "Wait, can we negotiate?"

DM: "Guys...its a gazebo."

Player 1: "Damn, is it fireproof?"
Player 2: "Tricky things, those gazebos - did it make its savings throw?"
Player 3: "Stop shooting! I'll never be able to negotiate with it now!"

I'll cast Gazebo Divination. [Wink]

Posted by Zalmoxis (Member # 2327) on :

Nah. The pun bonus is overrated. I'd rather be a Third Level Olivet -- you get high-level banter, flirt and pop culture reference commands plus a very nice geekiness bonus that's doubled because of her gender. It makes for very flexible and varied yet powerful play.

Of course it might be worth it to be a Second or Third Level mackillian just to have the 'fencing threat' command.

Posted by no. 6 (Member # 7753) on :

Okay, I'd like to be a fourth level Toni or Celia60.

Those classes both have enormous bonuses in Sarchasm, right?

OOps. Toni. [Razz]

Its not about casting or Exp. points or anything, its just about the characters, well the people playing the characters, posting about their situations and saying their stuff.

Awwww.

I miss my "ta hacko" score. [Taunt]

Huh. See I thought it was all about rising to the top of one's guild and then ruling with an iron fist.

I was able to neutralize the "Jettboy" threat, get rid of "Patrick," seriously undermine the power of "JonBoy," and sufficiently distract "A Rat Named Dog" --- now only Scott R is a serious threat in the "Mormon Guy" guild. [Sorry mph, but you change screennames too much to seriously threaten].

Wow. advice for robots was right when he said he never made lists. [Razz]
