linky to Book 4

linky to the Fowlverse

I started reading this series a year ago. In spite of myself, I really enjoyed them. They're funny and clever and the adventures are all thoroughly exciting. I didn't even know there was a fourth book until recently, but it's exactly what I've come to expect from the series. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes YA works, though the few instances of gross-out humor (mostly shown through the character of Mulch Diggums) would probably make it more a favorite of young boys.

Rivka seemed excited to hear about the new fourth book, so here's what I want to know--has anyone successfully cracked the codes on the bottom of the pages? They drive me nuts in an intrigueing way. [Smile]

Artemis Fowl doesn't exactly seem like a book Hatrackers would like. Mind you I enjoyed them. A Pleasure read more than anything else. I loved how Artemis was the villian (sort of) and you root for him. I don't think the writing style is particularly decent, but the storytelling is nice.

I find a great deal of irony in your choice of screen name, and your critiscism of an author's style.

I really liked the first one, but I haven't gotten around to reading the rest. And yes, I did try to crack the code, for several hours, but I finally gave up. [Razz]

----Warning! Answer Below!----

On page 26, harcover edition, first book, there is an image of th sectionsof the book. On the next page, there are those characters, translated. The characters along the bottom of the pages are the same.

Hatrackers not liking fantasy? News to me, Lanfear.

I don't think I could stand a book about a dude named Artemis. I mean, Artemis was my favorite Olympian back in my digging Olympians phase.

I enjoy Artemis Fowl, and I recommend him to elementary kids who enjoy fantasy and sci-fi. There's not enough good fantasy and sci-fi for young readers.
