this book is incredibly funny. It's a quick read. We picked up 2 copies on our trip to London. In fact, Amira watched us buy them.

I have to say, I was annoyed at how much of my usual airplane ride was taken up with laughing rather than napping. The purpose of airplane rides is sleep, isn't it?

Well, this book kept me chuckling and chortling the whole time today and so I'm now jet lagged and my face muscles hurt.

I can't wait for the sequel. Although, I do have to say that the price in London was a bargain compared to that listed in the link above. We got our copies at a discount store on Charing Cross Road. Maybe Amira can score us copies of the sequel come August???

Aye. This book, along with Jonathan Norrell, kept last year from being a complete loss for me, literary-wise.

I don't think it's possible to read this book without nudging your patient and long-suffering partner in order to read her four or five passages from the same page, which is all of seven passages long.

Seconded! Er, thirded, actually. This was one of my london souveniers from BobnDana, and it is absolutely hilarious. I admit it took me at least a third of the book to realize that the chapter titles have absolutely nothing to do with the chapters, which made it even funnier.

I confess to having interrupted whatever Bob was reading to read passages of the book to him. And then I sent it with him on the plane so he had no one to read to.

I picked up the first copy as a gift for Enigmatic, because it had monkeys and pirates on the cover. And then I read the description on the flyleaf and decided we needed a copy too.
