In case you don't remember, Surge was a green soda introduced by Coca-cola in the late 90s. A few years ago it has gone out of production in my area. A little while back I did some looking and found that Surge was still listed on coke's webpage as one of their brands. I emailed them and asked where, if anywhere, it was still being made or sold. The answer was something along the lines of "You have to check with your local bottling companies to see if they're still making it." This was worthless, because I already knew it wasn't being sold anywhere near where I lived. (Iowa at the time, Minnesota now)

So recently the caffeine thread reminded me of this and I got an idea: You. Hatrackers live around the country, around the world. Would you please check your local supermarkets and/or bottling companies to see if Surge still exists anywhere?

I love this stuff. It's refreshingly addictive. If there's some in the continental US I will start planning a road trip. If it's out of the country I'd consider looking at shipping a 12-pack. I have a friend who was completely addicted to this stuff when we were in college, and I would love to see the look on his face if I handed him a can.

Any info would be appreciated.

I haven't seen any around Texas (both the Houston and Dallas areas) in recent years. In fact, the last time I saw Surge was probably when I was in middle school, which would put it about 5 years ago or so. I do know you can sometimes find it on eBay, although it may be older bottles and not new stuff. Sorry I can't be more helpful than just reporting what I've seen in my area.

It is hard to find, JennniK loves it. We don't have any here in MA, according to her.

I sort of remember seeing it at the store by my grandma's, so I'll check this weekend (going up so dad can watch the 500 on tv, it's not broadcast live here because we're so close to indy and they'd rather we went to the race)

This would be Northern Indiana, about half way between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, if those help you at all.

Coca-Cola's new citrus soda is coming out in a few states, namely: Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The new drink will be called VAULT and rumor has it that it is the SURGE formula in a new packaging. This information is on SaveSurge.org

I hope that helps.

I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. Right now there is bidding on ebay for a single can of Surge at $10.29. The auction before it has 15 bidders and is up to $8.50.

Digusting.

Pitiful creatures.

Thank you for the links. Considering the state of the ebay auctions, it seems less likely that it's easily available in stores. I shall keep an eye on this Vault development, however.

I am in one of the test states for Vault, so I'll keep an eye out for it.

None in Illinois but I personally bow down before the dark god that is coca-cola. *Twitch*

I'm sure they had Surge in Atlanta at the Coke Museum, but I wasn't looking for it. I will check the store at my grandma's tommorow.

Hmm. The last time I was in the coke museum, I don't remember seeing it...but I wasn't looking for it, either.

Ah, the coke museum. I love the coke museum. So much fun. [Big Grin]

I remember the boys so excited to see something, and I'm pretty sure that's what it was. But I was shaken up because a girl had just broken her leg from our group.
