Death to apostrophisers!

<Vow's never to use apostrophe's incorrectly again. No, really.>

If e're I do apostrophise,
Thou may'st as well gouge out mine eyes.
That bit'o curly pun-chew-ation
Will ne'er be an object of my infatuation.

E'en so, I leave you with one lesson learn'd
The apostrophe should not be burned
'Tis useful as the day is long
Especially if there are too many syllables in a line and you're trying to write a song.

Last night, I attended a graduation. (Actually, I did more than attend it; I was the bouncer/crowd-husher. [Wink] )

Many bunches of mylar balloons were brought to gift the graduates with, and many congrats were given.

Or, as one balloon had it "congrat's!"

>_<

rivka, that's...just unspeakable.

Posted by KarlEd (Member # 571) on :

Actually, "Congrat's" would be appropriate since the word is "Congratulations" and the " ' " is a standin for the "ulation" part, the same way it stands in for the "o" in "don't" or the "a" in "they're". [Wink]

[Edit -- now imogen, however, is just flouting.]
