Saturday, 6/18 is Sasha's homecoming day. It was one year ago that he physically came into our home for the first time. It is suggested by adoption groups that you celebrate that day as a kind of second birthday.
Saturday will be an interesting day.
On Sunday we head out on vacation so we have to pack.
On Saturday there is a meeting of International Families, a picnic.
So we are doing all three.
Still, if anyone wants to send an e-card to my e-mail address, I'll pass them on to Sasha on his big day. (He's getting a bike and books and a cake and we really are trying not to spoil him or allow his other relatives to spoil him.)
I think we've done a good job over the past year. Apparently my wife does too. More on that later.

Congratulations!
My friend Jen is adopted and her family has always celebrated the day they brought her home. They call it Family Day, and it's very special to them. I think it's great.
Coincidentally, the 18th is exactly 6 months till my due date (12/18). I think that's a good omen and good luck for the baby!
