Listening to Sinead O'Connor's "Black boys on mopeds" I realized I had no idea what she's singing about. My guess is that they were real events, but as to when they happened and what exactly happened I don't have a clue. Anyone familiar with this? Thanks.

In 1989, Nicholas Bramble wrecked his motorcycle and died while being pursued by the police. The Bramble family (and many others) blamed the officers for causing his death, and the officers claimed that it was Bramble's fault.

It was the kind of incident that although no one except for those involved knows exactly what took place, people across Britain took sides.

Thanks, Anastasia! Now I'm sure I've heard nothing about it before, but it doesn't really surprise me since back then I was just a kid. [Smile]
