Uh -- it wasn't just Master Card, ya know. That processing center handles thousands of transactions for most major merchants and for both Visa and Master Card and others.

I'm sure I'll be hearing more about this at my work (a bank) on Monday morning. They've already replaced my card once, free of charge, due to a merchant breech. That was just a few months ago..

edit: in fact, I don't understand why the media is so intently harping on it being a "MasterCard breech" and bad-mouthing Master Card. The story at this link even quotes a legislator lampooning the MC company. But it wasn't a Master Card breech! It was a CardSystems Solutions breech -- which handles many, many other kinds of cards besides Master Card. MC is only getting the media hit because they were the first ones to make news of the breech public, to warn their customers.

And more Visa than MC customers were breached. Plus, apparently the system was out of compliance with Visa/MC company policies when the breach occured.
